Broken kindle 3 screen

Hello,

unfortunately, there is no screen replacement for your broken kindle 3 screen. The only option you have is to remove the screen of a dead kindle 3 that is no longer being used. To get a dead Kindle 3, you might have to visit where kindle 3 is repaired within your vicinity.

Lastly, you might end up getting another kindle 3. If there was a screen replacement for sale, it would have been much easier, but unfortunately, there isn't.

Good luck.

My kindle will not turn

Make sure that the kindle is fully charged. Plug your kindle into the wall charger, a yellow light will light up. When the yellow light turns green, your kindle is fully charged. Then try turning on your device. If the device still doesn't respond, do a hard reset by holding the power switch for 15 seconds

Your router can also be configured for a B or G operation, and may have the option of a second SSID (network name) for the B and G bandwidths. Check the manual for how to set up a second SSID for B/G operation.

Hi there, My screen on

Make sure the device is charged and then slide and hold the on switch for several seconds, the power LED behind the switch will blink three times to indicate it got the message. This will switch the kindle off (not just put it to stand-by as with a short flip of the switch).
If it was off already, or after the above procedure, the same slide-and-hold until after blinking will switch it on again (this may take like a minute or so for reboot, you will see a progress indicator on screen).

If the software just hung and there is no electrical or mechanical defect, the kindle should be ready again.

Kindle locked up and now can't get it to turn on.

I have the same problem. The screen saver is partially frozen on the screen on the upper right corner and then blank down the rest of the right side. The rest of the screen is readable and I'm able navigate (turn pages, select different books, etc).

Did you figure anything out? Help!

My Kindle froze, how do I reboot it?

there's a little pinhole at the bottom. insert a paper clip to do a hard reset. Or remove the battery and re-insert it to the same effect.
If all attempts trying to unfreeze it fail, you may have a logic board issue. Are you sure the Kindle powers up? It may show something on the sreen, even if it is not turned on (e-ink screen does not need a powersupply to show an image). Try to power up your Kindle with a different battery. If that fails, you can get the part at Kindle Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to open a kindle and install parts at Kindle Repair Guide.

My kindle screen is distorted model number D00901

Dear Sarah,If your Kindle presents some horizontal or vertical lines in part of the screen, or even in full screen, and if the image is kind of "vaporous", not bright, it might have happened that you have a broken display (maybe due to pressure exerted on it, by something inside your bag, backpack or wherever you carry your Kindle). Please check this link to see if your problem is similar to those shown in the images: https://www.google.com.br/search?q=broken+kindle+display+image&client=opera&hs=72G&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=hsZ5Upr2PMrqkAez1YHwCw&ved=0CCgQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=730If that is the case, you can buy a new display from Ali Express and replace it following the disassembling instructions shown at http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repairing+Kindle+3+%28screen+replacement%29/11938If you do not want to do it on your own, take the display and the instructions provided in the link indicated to a service technician that you trust and have it replaced (I had the same problem with my kindle 3 and replaced its display in less than an hour - it is not that difficult...).Although you posted the problem in the area for the Kindle 1, by the model number it seems that you have a Kindle 3 (3rd generation) or Kindle Keyboard. The display for this model is the one shown in the link below:http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Kindle-Keyboard-Wi-Fi-6-E-Ink-Display-ED060SC7-100-Amazon/418068038.htmlHope it helps!Regards,Miguel Luiz Martins

HOW DO I UNDER FREZZER MY KINDLE

Hold the power switch for 20 seconds. Slide the power switch and hold it in place for 20 to 30 seconds before releasing it.
  • You need to physically hold the power switch in its off position for this long. Doing so tells your device to "reboot," in essence, instead of merely shutting down.
  • The reboot screen should appear as soon as you release the power switch.
Give the Kindle time to reboot. The Kindle will reboot within a minute or two. Be patient and give your device ample time to finish its reset.
  • There is some possibility that the Kindle will freeze as it reboots. This may be the case if your Kindle stays frozen on the reboot screen for more than ten minutes.
Charge the Kindle. If the device freezes during the reboot or does not respond to the reset at all, plug the charger in and allow your Kindle to charge for 30 minutes or more.
  • Make sure that your Kindle has enough time to complete a full charge.
Hold the power switch down again. After you finish charging the Kindle, slide the power switch and hold it down for another 20 seconds.
  • The reboot screen should appear again. Give the device a minute or two to reboot before checking it again. This should complete the reset.

You have to enter the WPA share key. The router password is only to access the built in administration web facility. The WPA share key is the encryption key necessary for the Kindle to connect to your router.
