My kindle keeps freezing

In most cases, to avoid freezing, keep battery charged and turn off wireless when it's not being used. To properly reset, hold power switch to the right for 15 seconds.

Resetting the device is not a bad thing, most electronic devices need it to be done. It can be annoying, but it's not fatal.

I would keep track of how many times you need to reset the device. Once the amount get over a few times per day, honestly, I would call Kindle Support. They've got the necessary software to look further into your Kindle.

My kindle will not connect tot he wireless in a 3g

Hi! I'm not sure if you're still in need of a solution but I'm currently going through the same issue. My Kindle 2 has not connected to Whispernet for over a week. I've been back and forth with Customer Service (1-866-321-8851 or 1-206-266-0927 if you're calling from outside the U.S) and after an exhaustive search for any possible answer, they told me it was a network connectivity issue and forwarded a service note to AT&T/Sprint, and promised to notify me as soon as possible. I'm still waiting to hear from them. Yesterday my Kindle connected to Whispernet for all of three minutes (just long enough to download a book I bought over a week ago) and now nothing. I've even tried switching wireless networks in range (go to settings, hit menu, type 311 - select different wireless networks) but to no avail. So basically, the best thing you can do after you have tried a soft/hard reset, a fully charged battery and toggling wireless off and on is to call tech support. Do you happen to be in Orange County, New York? If you are, maybe it's a malfunctioning cell tower. Hope this helps!

How do i re-register my kindle onto a different account

First, you need to deregister the Kindle from the old account. Deregistering will retain the already downloaded books on the E-Ink devices but wipes all purchased content tied to the old account from e.g. Kindle Fire. You cannot restore books from the cloud anymore you purchased on the old account and access to the shop is blocked until the device is registered again. Other Kindle's on the same account and the account itself remain unaffected. You can do the deregistration from the Kindle's settings menu --> Registration or alternatively from an Amazon web site: Log in to http://kindle.amazon.com using the old credentials (email + password). Next, select "Manage Your Kindle" from menu that opens when you hover the mouse over the "Hello, <Name>" link in the upper right corner of the page. Click on the center tab "Your Devices" and review the list of Kindle devices and software readers tied to your account. Select the device to deregister and click on "deregister" below. To register the Kindle to a new account, go online with the Kindle, and follow the registration procedure callable from the settings menu.
