Can you read the plate on the compressor? If so, you can determine the BTUs from there. Roughly 12,000 per ton.

Most dryers are designed to be repaired from the rear. On the rear probably the whole back panel unscrews. Giving access to the duct where the heating element is located. Make sure to have the dryer unplugged while servicing it to prevent getting electrocuted. Your heating element will be inside of a metal duct that feeds hot air into the dryer remove it and inspect it for breaks in the coils of wire or burned areas. Having a good volt meter that checks continuity is a great tool to check dryer parts. There are several over heat sensors that can go bad over time to and can prevent the dryer from heating. These sensors and the heating element can all be checked using the volt meter on the continuity setting. Having a cell phone on hand helps to take pictures of wiring and connections inside the dryer before unhooking them to aid in reassembly. With sensors or element unplugged and a volt meter on continuity setting touch the red probe to one side of a connector and the black probe to the other side if there's no numbers or a beep on your volt meter suspect that part bad. I have fixed several dryers this way. Hope this helps you.

Yes. A wireless thermostat will work on your Amana furnace. I like the Honeywell wireless thermostats. The only problem I have had is exceeding the distance between the wireless thermostats location and the control module that you mount and wire up next to the furnace.

If the washer is acting as if it is getting no power, but you have checked the power wall outlet ... there is a chance that the power cord itself has failed. I found a reference to someone who had a pinched power cord that had shorted out ... resulting in the washer getting zero power.
Carefully inspect your cord ... but the challenge is that you may not be able to see visible damage.
Another reason for no power to the washer can be that an internal non-replaceable fuse on the circuit board has blown.

sounds like the clothes load is unbalanced and uneven try sorting out the load and balance it out if it keeps banging side to side try checking the springs inside the washer (careful when opening your clothes washer please! or allow a pro to open your washer and inspect it for any spring weaknesses)

It's possible your heat element is burnt out.

unplug it and leave it off for an hour. then plug back in this may reset it. power coming back on can be higher than normal its always best to turn things off so when the power comes back on and you switch it back on its at the correct voltage.
