You mean ALE643RBW... drew blanks when I first looked and gave up. So... there's no moister sensor for this model. It runs the cycle by the start point of the timer. Its labled "more" dry or "less" dry in some fashion which merely changes the length of the cycle. Simple and dependable but doesn't meet todays "green" requirements. Most likely it is the timer which lists at ~$170US from Sears. Your dryer has gotta have some years on it so not sure what else it may need in the near future. If you can do repairs yourself, $80 refurb timer on Ebay Otherwise to pay labor and markup... better off with new.

I'm leaning 2 directions, one is that your tstat is sensing your heatpump can not keep up with the load. Therefore bringing on heat strips or two, you have a cycles per hour limit set for compressor heating and your machine is cycling too often.

There should a on-off rocker switch on the icemaker. Turn it off.

Probably not one. Many different possibilities. Explain “stopped working”. As in no heat, won’t run, etc

Does the power light come on? If yes, then you can do a reset as below: There is a master switch on the bottom left of the control board. Slide that to 'off' position. Then press the hot and cold switch/key together and then slide the master switch back to 'on'. Please put your response/observation here if that does not work or there is power light as asked on top. Motor might be bad and shutting down on thermal protection. Is this a direct drive or belt driven ? .if belt driven try adjusting the belt tension or just replaced the motor

Always check the breakers in your electrical breaker box in house first. I say this because it takes 2 for dryers one for coils and lights the other for motor and thermostats. Next check door switch by listening for contact click sound when you push the door closed if you hear it switch is good and most likely motor is bad.

Over the years I've found that if it buzzes but will only start when you "assist"it, the drive motor is at fault. The hot smell you describe backs that up.. This assumes the idler is ok and the belt is routed correctly. Make sure the belt is on the motor pulley and not riding on the motor shaft. This can happen sometimes if you have to install the belt by feel when you can't see it well . That said, the motor should still start without assistance even with an incorrectly installed belt.

How much power is the question. Remember, heating coils usually require 240 volts. You likely are only getting 115 due to a faulty limit switch. 115 will carry through to the other side of the switch from the coil side leading you to believe the switch is good. Remove both sides of switch and test continuity.

Possibly thermal fuse is bad. Or maybe door switch.

I would guess two possible problems - dirty thermostat contacts and many appliances are also fitted with a thermal fuse or other type of thermal cutout which might have failed.

Either a faulty thermostat or faulty air damper that controls air flow form freezer to fridge.

Sounds like the motor control relay had the contacts fused closed. This would most likely lock out the the other functions.

Most likely a control board problem if no lights at all are on.
