No audio during movie (Die HArd movies)

Sometimes, the movie video suddenly gets muted during the playback and some prompt-up message shows on your screen, like "Audio outputs temporarily muted". Actually, this is caused by Cinavia Message Code 3.

My allegro won’t turn on

Hello Jackie, The first thing that you should do is completely disconnect your Allegro from power for at least 30 seconds, then reconnect it to power and see if it will power on. If the problem persists, consider moving the device to a different plug-in on a different wall of your home, and again see if the device will power on. If still your device will not power on, plug a different device into the outlet (VCR, DVD, other TV etc) to ensure that there IS power to that outlet. If after all this your device still doesn't power on, but a different device does, consider visiting an electronic repair shop as it would seem your device has failed. Hope this helps, Best regards fixya-aioep5zungdwqwtpjd23ghga-3-0.png

Allegro DVD/VCR combo - not reading disk & eating tapes.

Sorry I know very little about the dvd side but my experience with several VCRs is they need cleaning sometimes just like audio tape recorders and players need cleaning. Early in my days of VCR ownership the engineer I used was sick of seeing me and taught me how to clean the heads, guides and rollers myself to restore performance and help prevent tapes being chewed. Head cleaning tapes simply did not reach the parts needing cleaning though the the wet type sometimes helped. A VCR might work normally for several months and then suddenly it would happen again. Sometimes I needed to do a clean several times in a month. I did have a Sharp VCR once and that had something called an idler reel that would "suddenly" need replacing (several times) due to chewed tapes but other than that manual cleaning did the job every time. Later VCRs were fitted with a self cleaner that worked well and meant there was no trouble for a long time but when the self cleaner became loaded with filth they actually made matters worse. Matter of interest, I use clean newspaper and methylated spirit for cleaning.

I need program for remote control-AT&T 200b

Sharp 026 • 091 • 129 • 141

the guide can be retrieved from
http://www.comcast.com/MediaLibrary/1/2/CM/VanityURL/documents/us_electronics_uf4200c_manual.pdf

On the remote control, press and hold the appropriate mode key (TV button) until the four mode
keys flash twice. The mode key will continue to flash.
Enter the three-digit code. See above I gave all the Sharp codes.
After you press the first digit, the mode key should light and stay on. After you press
the last digit, the mode key should flash three times and turn off.
If the mode key does not flash three times before turning off, the code is invalid for
this device type. Repeat the procedure with another device code.
Point the remote at the device and press POWER. If the device turns on or off, you
have finished programming.
If you have tried all the codes listed for the manufacturer and the device does not
respond, refer to the CodeScan™ section later in this manual.

Dvd player does not read dvd

Suggests that the motor regulator IC has problems spinning the disk in a normal way so it will overheat and start to behave in an erratic way - consequentially it may have problems stopping the disk before it ejects.

However, this does not necessarily mean that the IC is bad (far from it), it is just overheating and will usually do so when the spindle motor has oxydized brush contacts - this means that the motor resistance is now higher and that it will not spin at a correct speed with the voltage supplied from the IC.

The electronics will then try to compensate for the speed, but the IC may overheat and start messing up.

Cleaning or replacing the spindle motor might solve the problem, but if the motor can not be replaced because of the unit design and buildup, then this usually calls for the replacement of the entire disk mechanism.

Anyway, this is just one of the possible causes, you might want to try cleaning the laser pickup lens first, but i'm not sure if doing so will make things any better.
