In order to help you turn on the oven you will need the oven manual. But as you have not provided the model number it is hard to advise which manual applies. You may want to visit this website and type the model number after you check it from the plate on the oven door. (side). The oven is on and lights work. When I select a function, cooker remains on but when I select a temperature the cooker trips the mains
In a simple oven, this could be be due to a heavy current due to a fault (check with resistance meter) or if the resistance is OK the tripping could be cased by an 'earth leakage' which typically presents when an appliance is damp or a heating element has not been used for a while...
