Acer lcd tv al2671w. This LCD TV does not switch

This is a common fault solution which can be checked and corrected by you assuming that there is no component failure . There is a high possibility that the components over a period of heating and cooling, tend to bring on a problem of dry soldering. So my advice is to check the set for some loose joints that have played on to give you these erratic shut downs or poor performance.

The best way to check for loose connections is to tap lightly when the set is powered on , If there is change while tapping then it seems that there are DRY solder joints. Remove main plug, the covers - with caution of high voltage, check for dry joints, use a good soldering iron to solder all suspected points.

Sometimes the fault occurs when the set warms up, if so you can simulate the heat using a hair dryer on the suspected areas, try with the power supply, distribution, Processor controller, driver controllers on the A/V related sections. Also the use a FREEZE-IT spray can simulate the components to cool and show up the fault.

Based on the above method you must be able to locate the area of fault and solder the sections. Sometimes large IC's- ones with more pins- tend to have drying in some pins and so cause faults related to the IC's protocol. Have a rough idea of looking into the areas to reduce the time of probing.

Check for tips to look into the SMPS unit:

Hi.

You have two ways to start the setup wizard.

1 Call the menu. Go to SETTINGS and Choose RESET. After the TV gets restarted the Setup Wizard will automatically drive you to initial settings.

2 Go to SETTINGS and choose CHANNEL SETTINGS. There you will find the option to setup channel frequencies.

It does not work

Hello,

Common faults are: some buttons not working, not working at all, corroded battery terminals. Often buttons are sticky because of some dirt accumulated over the years from the sticky little hands of your kids?
The hardest part of repair is often to open the covers. You do not need much experience in electronics repair to repair a remote. Also it is perfectly safe as there is no way to get an electric shock as they work with batteries.

step 1Test your remote with Digital Camera
Check your batteries first or buy new batteries. Once you have good batteries, you can test with a digital camera by pushing the buttons and having camera on and pointing to the infrared led. You should see red light if the remote is working. If no light comes up you obviously have a dead remote but do not despair and procede to the next step

step 2Open the remote control but there is a catch or a few catches.
Remove the screws if any. Sometimes screws may be hidden under a sticker or rubber feet. Often there are no screws at all but just plastic catches hidden so you have to be clever to open it without breaking the case. Use something blunt and flat to click the covers open. This is often a challenge but should not be too difficult.

step 3Take a picture of every phase so you remember how to re-assemble
Since you are using a digital camera you might as well take pictures of the dis assembly so re-assembly will be easier.

step 4Pull everything apart
Did you take a picture of the key pad layout? Sometimes keypad is just one rubber membrane but sometimes the keys fall away like pieces of a Lego puzzle. And if the buttons are marked with numbers and functions you may struggle to re-assemble them in right order? Use a small plastic takeaway box or similar to store the bits so you don't lose parts.

step 5Inspect the circuit board and repair dry joints
Remotes are often dropped on the floor and may develop dry joints on the battery contacts or circuit board. Inspect the contacts and circuit board under good light with a magnifying lens or if lucky you might have a microscope or just a very good eyesight? Solder all suspicious joints. If there is a sign of water damage you can use methylated spirits and toothbrush to...

step 6Wash the covers and the buttons
Use a small bowl or similar to wash and contain all the parts so you don't lose bits down the drain. Use old toothbrush to clean all button holes and buttons. Warm water with dish wash liquid does the job. Take particular care with those small buttons and clean them properly. If you can leave the bits to soak overnight they come clean easy. Ultrasonic cleaner would be goo...

step 7Rinse, drain and dry the parts
Rinse with warm water. Use a drainer to contain all the parts without losing small bits down the drain. As extra security use sink plug. Dry with a paper towel. Wipe the buttons dry individually as they may still have some dirt which makes them sticky when in use.

step 8Repair case and re-assemble
If there is damage to the case or buttons you need to do the required repairs. Use hot glue or super glue depending on fault. Let dry overnight if you had to glue something. Re-assemble bits in reverse order and make sure you have the buttons in right place and right way around. Small nicks and dents on plastic cover can often be repaired by heating carefully with a h...

step 9Test with Digital Camera
Test every button as before. Sometimes you have to push two remote buttons simultaneously . Once you have completed test with your camera you can use the remote.

This keep your remote working effectively...

Takes ages to switch on,

Good day!

That problem is 2 causes, its either power supply or system board.
This are some D.I.Y procedure for troubleshooting.

  1. Open the back cover by removing all screws at the back.
  2. Try to look at the power supply board and find the leak/bulge on top capacitors. If you found, replace it with the same type and ratings.
  3. If the power supply doesn't have any leak capacitors.Try to power it ON to perform voltage checking.
  4. Check the output voltage of power supply such as 5vdc,12vdc and 24vdc by using voltmeter. If this 3 supplies having a voltage drop or flickering voltage while on power ON.Check the following parts on the power supply, change value/open resistor, shorted transistor and diode or repeat step # 2.
  5. When the output voltage is stable and all parts looks OK.The problem could be on system board.Unfortunately the system board or main board is not for D.I.Y because the parts inside is very logic and very sensitive. That is replaceable.

Thank you and good luck.

I have an ACER AL2416W

The problem is in the monitor, even if the display was not hooked to the computer you should see the acer logo. The monitor has a power supply inverter board issue often caused by bad capacitors that bulge at the top, an attempt can be made to repair or replace the board. If a professional gets involved cheaper to replace the monitor.

I have an acer AT3220 lcd tv i had problems

Open the back of the tv check th epower supply for busted/leaking or swollen capacitors - if you have experience solder some new ones in place - use the 105degress one for a longer lasting capacitor - the radio shack ones will work but they are rated at 85 degrees and wont last as long.

thanks,
