Take your Shaw Remote Control, and read the instructions on the back. Follow those instructions. If that does not work, just telephone Shaw, and ask for Technical Support for TV, and a customer representative will walk you through the process.
Try a hard reset to this set, and check. If it do not help you, the main board to this set is faulty. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset; and the other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.
the tv has a fault most often the backlight system on the panel
so take it to the tv shop
its too hard to repair LCD backlights unless you have the right tools and jigs for the panel to be lifted off correctly
they should charge around £50 max ....
looks like the same problem i have with my 32" acer tv, it seems to be a problem of acer TVs get someone to check the capacitors in the power supply.... I think one might be bad.
Hi Sheila, it sounds like a bad connection, affected by the system heating up. Take it to someone who can open it up and check all connections, it should be fixable. Good luck.
hi,
acer h274hl has obviously desing problem at power on/off switch.
it's mecanically very weak and break's it self before end of life whole product. Mine power switch broked after 2 years.
Depending on your location and legistalation monitor should work over 3-10years and manufacturer is responsible to repair OR GIVE NEW product, waranty or quaranteen from manufactory dose not affect rights based on your legistlation.
For Acer this is realy bad advertising.
You can remove switch and use microswitch behind rear panel by screw driver if you do not have time to start war against your computer merhant or Acer. Going service due switch takes 1-3 hours time so most likely you buy new monitor or remove switch.
I did not found replacement switchs from ebay so it is not solution eighter.
Also remeber all bad products and avoid brands whit bad desing.

Make sure the item connected to the component is turned on. Also try a different TV or take it to a friend and see if it works there. That will at least narrow it down to the TV, cable, or the actual component.
