Judging from comments on the web this problem is everywhere with this tablet! Your best bet is to go to the customer service desk of Acer and complain that they need to give you a solution! Go to:us.acer.com

You must find a computer marked with the USB sign with a Plus sign, because this MP3 player needs 500 mA @ 5 V.

Yes there is a USER MANUAL. enter top right 'search' the following:-acer iconia tab A500 tablet user manualand you should be able to print out same. Get Office Works to bind, they do a beaut job and very reasonable. Enjoy.

Go to Acer.com and look for the A500 user guide. Its 65 pages long and comes in PDF format. I just downloaded it 12/5/12.If you are looking for a repair manual I suggest that you look on YouTube, they have a lot of videos that show how to completely break down the A500, or just remove the cover to replace the battery.I had mine off trying to solve the Mic problem of the background noise. no luckHope this is what you want.Good luck
