Graphics card
You probably can't buy an AGP card now since they are so old. Performance will be very poor no matter what card you use. You won't be able to run any modern games on it since the CPU, RAM etc will also be very poor. Put any old AGP card in it and just use it for web browsing and simple tasks. Otherwise, it's time to upgrade for sure.
Acer Veriton M410 - Won't boot
I haven't worked with an Xtap before, but lets address the boot problem. Often when working inside the machine, the RAM can become unseated or poorly connected. Remove any cards (noting which slot they were in) except for a video card (if you are using one). Remove the RAM cards and refit them making sure they snap back in to the socket. Don't be afraid to press firmly on the RAM when re-seating it. It must click firmly in or you will have problems. If you have two sticks of RAM, try just inserting the one closest to the CPU first and try booting. If ok, insert the other stick. If the machine boots, shut down and install cards one by one. Good luck.
I have a acer veriton
Hello,
I have an Acer L410 that is having the same issues. I get the power light but it will not boot. I hear that the hard drive is spinning so this is something that is good as well. Also I placed the hard drive into another Acer computer and it started up the other pc just fine. So thie is what fixed this issue. " I went out and bought a battery to replace the one on the motherboard it is a CR2032 3volt round battery that I got at Walgreens for 5 bucks. I hope this helps you out and I hope it saves others from spending too much to correct this issue. If you could please visit my channel on youtube to give thanks for my assistance, its under Kenzilla73 "
Want to restore to factory settings
Which factory settings? If you mean the BIOS settings, when you start the machine, go into setup (could be F2, F11 or F12 depends on the motherboard) and there is a place in there (you'll see it when the screen opens) to reset to default. It will ask if you really want to do it, answer YES and it will reset all of your BIOS setting back to factory defaults. Once it resets, it will reboot the machine.
Hi i have acer p4 with windows 7 and i have lost
You have to download drivers for Video,Sound,INF and LAN(if u r using internet). Look don't go to Acer site for drivers fist check your chipset if intel chipset then go to Intel.com
To check your chipset go to RUN type "Dxdiag" hit enter click yes
click on Display Tab u will see Name of chipset something like
"Intel 865/845g___ Express chipset family"
Write it down in a page then go to "Intel.com" to search for driver of that chipset...you will definitely get.
It will 100% work. Good Luck
