How do i stop my windows intaller trying to install symantec antivirus msi file

Step 1: Stop Windows Installer From Popping Up b> The older a computer gets, the more junk it accumulates. A great number of computers out there don't start up without a thousand things popping up demanding your attention. Windows Installer is one of the more notorious pop-up offenders for Microsoft users. Stopping these pop-ups can prove challenging, however, there is a way. On your computer's desktop, click on the "Start" tab, typically located on the bottom left of the screen (in Vista it may be the Windows symbol rather than the word "Start"). Now locate and click the program titled "Run." Vista users can locate this program by typing "run" in the search box at the bottom of the "Start" menu. Once "Run" is open, type "MSCONFIG" into the empty box and click "OK." This will open the System Configuration Utility. With the System Configuration Utility open, select the tab labeled "Services." Scroll down the list of services (it may be beneficial to click the "service" column to sort the services alphabetically) until you find the "Windows Installer" program. Now click the check box beside the Windows Installer name and click the "Disable" button at the bottom of the System Configuration. Congratulations, you have stopped "Windows Installer" from popping up!

I my laptop cant boot windows 7 and xp together !

Hi,
Since you have installed XP after installing windows 7 & vista, you have erased the boot manager of vista. To get it back, just download & install Vista Boot Pro from http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/VistaBootPRO.shtml

I will need to use a wi-fi internet service briefly, shortly. I understand the wi-fi button on this laptop... Do I require additional software or would it connect automatically ?

Say your staying overnight at a motel/hotel and they provide WIFI service with the room. After powering on your laptop look down in the lower right hand corner of your screen on the taskbar menu and if you move your mouse pointer over each icon you should see a icon for your laptops wireless system and then click on this icon and then a short menu will come up and then choose "view wireless networks" next and this will make your wireless card search for available wireless networks to connect to. Look closely at this list of wireless networks and then select the network you want to connect to. The next thing that should happen is a second menu bar will appear asking you for a password to connect to the network you are tying to connect to. If the network is "unprotected" other words, "open" you will not need a password and in a few seconds your wireless menu will show "connected" and the signal strength your wireless card is receiving from the "wireless access point" your trying to connect to. Good luck, Dennis
