Check the cables and the computer connection VGA outlet.
If doesn't work and your monitor is under warranty ACER will repair your monitor for free.
If not, the better option is get a new one instead of repair due the high cost.

hi, first aid... check if the power switch is ok on the monitor, and let me know how you confirm the switch is ok???

go to acer website and download driver for monitor or graphics monitor. Make sure you download AL 1916W and NOT AL1916. Make sure after, you set your resolution to 1440 x 900. That should do the trick.

try changing with the bios settings

Move anything magnetic away from your screen. Including speakers.

Service Manual I chanced across while googling for this monitor. Not the User Manual mind you!

On a Acer AL2016w and the 2017 it is the far right larger button with the light in the middle of it.
I'm almost positive the AL1916 is in the same place

sounds like backlight is failing,contact acer and see if its under warranty.

It is probably the inverter which powers the backlight. It should say inverter right on it.

I'm using the Al1916W and it looks great at 1440 x 990. Make sure you have the latest Screen card drivers installed.

a bad capacitor will cause this on the power supply.

If your menu button is not working then you cant to do anything. I adviced to you pls check it from service center.

The aspect ratio is expressed as two numbers separated by a colon (x:y). and they actually represent the relation between width and height of (in your case) your monitor. Did you mean to change the resolution of your monitor? Could you please explain your problem in more detail? What is it exactly you want to achieve?

there is an hardware issue in your lcd it needs to change one of the capaciter please take it to a lcd technician

Time for a new monitor. I have the same problem. Tried the monitor on three different PCs and it turns on for 2 seconds then goes blank, power stays on (green LED on power switch).Temporary solution that worked for 1 day was to turn the brightness to 0 if you can manage to keep it on long enough to use the menu.

usually when you turn a monitor on it will display the company name of that monitor. Then after that it waits for the signal from the computer if there is no signal coming from the computer it usually has to do with the video card

Hook up to external monitor .. Does the pre boot screen pop up (black and white writing at start ) ? If display runs on external monitor then your screen needs replacing usually or if you see a vague image on laptop screen then inverter or backlight is gone .. if no display on external and no pre boot screen probably the graphics chip on laptop has malfunctioned.

Unfortunately, a stripe on an LCD monitor indicates a physical failure of the LCD panel itself. The only solution is to replace the panel with a new one.
