will a new waterpump and thermostat stop car from over heating 97 cadaliac if water pump is bad replace if not don't first try thermostat.

4.6 lit cadillac overheats although I replaced the thermostat I had the radiator rotted out, new water pump, new thermostat, both fans works when engine reaches 220, but does not cool the engine down.
