metal detector doesn't work My son just got a blue hat metal detector that turns on (with a brand new battery), but does not function. Any suggestions? We are having the exact same problem. Looks like

...Use a guitar pick/opening tool to run along the seam to split plastic case. From here. Remove any metal shields (if any) to disconnect all connectors. Such as LCD cameras mic , vol buttons etc.
