Where is the rinse aid dispenser on a maytag performa?

Please try these steps.

1. Open the door completely and remove the rinse aid cap by turning it counterclockwise.
2. Add the liquid rinse aid into the dispenser (until the rinse aid level reaches the full mark.)
3. Close the rinse aid cap by rotating it clockwise.
4. Set the rinse aid indicator dial to a number between 1 and 6. ...
5. Replace the cover.

Flush it out and drain the contents.

The obvious answer is that you need to add rinse-aid to the rinse-aid dispenser. Barring that, then you probably have a bad level sensor in the dispenser and would need to replace the whole detergent/rinse-aid dispenser assembly. On the other hand, it could just be a loose or disconnected wire going to the detergent/rinse-aid dispenser.

U can buy a soap with rinse agent in it already. I think one brand that offers this Finish. I don't know anyway of adding a receptacle to an older washer.

The rinse cycle is the same as the wash except the wash uses detergent and the rinse uses rinse aid.

The rinse cycle will dispense rinse aid if you have filled the dispenser. Check this first, that would be the most likely cause. Also in the spring as the water table table in most cities begins to rise the water quality goes down, extra calcium in the water can cause this problem.

Probably unlikely that it's clogged, but rather defective.

The short answer... NO. But, be careful... There are a lot of older Maytag dishwashers that were recalled due to rinse aid dispenser leaks causing a fire hazzard. Check here: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml07/07094.html

If your unit is covered under the recall the entire inner door will be replaced and you won't have to worry about cleaning the dispenser.

The reason why i asked you for the make and model no. was that the rinse aid dispenser was actually banned on many older dishwashers because of a fire hazard.As far as the dispenser, try using bleach, not too much, 1/2 cup and run with out dish washing soap. it should work.

How hot is the water ;120 is the minimum it should read at.If its below 120 than look for either a bad heater element or turn up the water heater.Rinse Aid needs to be added if its out.
