Whirlpool electric range burner power light stays on but no heat

Hi. I have a Whirlpool electric range (model rf363pxpt0) with standalone burners - the burner power indicator light stays lit whether the heat control knob is on or off, there is no heat coming from the burner on or off. I pulled the burner from the receptacle and one of the tabs broke off and stayed in the receptacle. I removed the tab and made sure no pieces remained in the receptacle then bought a replacement burner, no change. I put the replacement burner in the back burner of the same size and had heat within 10 seconds. I changed out the burner with the one that had been in the back of the range, no heat. As long as the breaker to the range is on the power light stays lit but no power to that one burner only.

I was an idiot. I was working on the wrong switch, from left to right on the left side the front burner is on the outside, the back is on the inside. This is reversed on the right side of the stove which I didn't realize. Once I figured this out, I had to get a switch that was rated much higher than the smaller one. The minute I replaced I put in the new switch and turned on the power, it has been working fine. Thanks for trying to help, much appreciated.

What is the model number and the age of your range?

I have replacedsurface unti terminal block with kit supplied by whirlpool part dealer. Though all other burners work on stovetop, the large burner still won't heat up. I alsp bought brand new element from...

Good morning,if you've replaced the burner and block and it still isn't heating, you definitely have a bad burner switch. On an electric stove you have two lines of 115 volts going through the switch to the burner. If one of the lines through the switch has burnt out,you may still get the burner on light. Hope that helps.

Replacement Range element not heating

red light means power is on in the wires. maybe the plug is very dirty, wire disconnected. if you mesured power at the connector, there is no reason a good burner would not work unless that when plugged in its not getting a good contact

Heating elements

I have a Whirlpool super capacity 465, the surface light for the burners comes on, the burners don't heat up, nor does the oven,(the light that says oven is on does not light up). I checked the main circuit breaker, that works. Are there any fuses in the range that would need to be replaced?

Thank-You,maddie
