My television turned itself off and will not turn back on again, the blue light is constantly flashing.

How many times does the light flash... i.e. flash flash flash flash flash...pause, then repeats?


If you include the make and model of the TV in your reply this would be helpful.

The Screen Turns Green then shuts itself off? Is this the Bulb or something else?


My sony 65Ws500 model about 4 months ago it started turning the screen all blue as soon as I turned it on. it stayed blue for about an hour then come back on normal now when I turn it on it will shut down and I get a small red light flashing 8 time then pauses and does it again 8 time then pauses then again and so on. I took back panel off. I turn on tv The blue bulb gets very bright and the green and red projection bulb goes out and now it shuts off. and the blinking starts it a code flashing but don't know the code to find out whats wrong. would someone help if u can been wife and I laid off from work 3 months now cant afford tech prices on our employment. wife and I has 2 little girls to raise. along with the rest of u parent out there and one getting employment cant offord repairs. Blue light flashes 4 times but no power


U know basic electronics,have tools and know basic soldering?Take the tv aparts,the power supply,that board where the a/c power cord plug into it.That the power supply board,searches the power supply board, for those dying about to be dead,capacitors alway bulges up on it tops or puff up on it tops.Replaced these dying and about to be dead capacitors,the tv power will up again and work.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay,com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

hi there, you have to send if for repair, tech people knows the prob., there a defective part to replaced. do some test and check up at the horizontal and power supply section. ty

So far you have done all you can and you have done everything right. The fact that the TV turned off by itself and then turned back on by itself suggests that one or more solder joints have come loose inside the set. A qualified tech should find this easy to fix, and Sony sets are always worth repairing, so it is now time to have the set serviced by a tech experienced in Sony standard sets.
