Hitachi ultravison 50 in HD TV w/o sound or video access

We can turn the tv on but there is no picture sound though there is some static associated with the increase in volume . Also when we try to connect a CD player, the connection is not identified on any of the AV channels.

Good Day, smuffin;
You may have a bad LAMP (part #; UX21516), it's about time, check lights on front panel of TV.
To replace LAMP remove Front Panel outwards until the quick snap disengages. There is small cover on the left hand side, using a philips screw driver; remove. Two more screws secure lamp, use handle to remove. ALWAYS, unplug TV from A/C power source first. Good Luck, big IRISH.

This T.V. more than likely has a bad lamp. I don't know the model number so look up on ebay for a lamp replacement by model number after you inspect it and find it to look cloudy or exploded.

While you have sound, take a flashlight and shine it on the screen, look very close and see if you can see a dark video image.
Let me know what you see.

Hitachi 32 No Picture or sound

if you are hearing a click and electrical statics when you try to turn it ON, the flyback of the tv is busted there are alot of reasons for that problem lighting is one so dont leave the cable screwed in if ever youre going out for a long time. you can have it replaced by a technician ( flyback). but it would cost you. and im not sure if you can find an orginal flyback considering its 10years old. there are replacement flybacks but quality would not be as good as the original one.
