If an Air Conditioner is on cooling then the Air Conditioner also removes humidity from the air any Split Unit, Window Wall A/C you name it... Any A/C on cooling dehumidify the air in the room.
To decrease the volume of the water: 1) Clean Air filter/s 2) Keep doors and windows close( can open now and again).
I don't know how that portable A/C of your look like but I believe theirs a water pan inside that needs cleaning I think it's full.( best is to service the hole A/C).
Make sure the filter(s) have been cleaned (Washed) and that the thermostat is set to the correct temperature. If the room temp is the same as the setting on the air con, it wont cool or heat. Just the fan will be operating.
remove the front grill that has the filter fittted on the grill end. remove and use a fine brush and aided with an air jet blow into the filter and remove off all the dust that is on it.
You can also use good detergent to wash off dirt and dry the filter but without any harsh brushing.
Now set this back but make sure to clean the inlet of the cooling
fins.
Read instructions and see if it says anything about cleaning or filters. A.C units **** air in and there is a filter that probably needs cleaned. Also, while cooling, the vent to the outside should put out warm air. Also, if it is less than a year old, contact the manufacturer and they should help you out. Good luck.
Hello, have you tried shortening the length of the exaust hose, portable air conditioners rapidly loose performance when the hose is long. The exaust hose needs to be as short as possible with the fewest possible bends. The overheating is usually caused by the unit struggling to push the heat away from it, this would also explain the less than satisfactory performance. Another thing worth checking is that the filter and the fins on both radiators are clean as dirt will decrease its ability to move heat. Hope this helps.
