Hotpoint fdw60 4th & 6th lights flashing

These two lights indicate a fault in the heating circuit.

You would require to have access to and be able to use a multimeter to test the heater if the machine isn't actually heating the water.

If it is heating the water then obviously we know the fault isn't with the heater.

Check the heater first.

Take the door apart and check the wiring in the door isn't broken.

If everything checks ok, take the pcb out, look for burned or dry joints around the relays.

I have a Hotpoint SDW 60 problem! The dishwasher starts and goes through pre-wash but stops with just the 'Delicate' light flashing. Does anyone know what the problem may be?

If the original light flashing that means it indicate a fault in the heating circuit. Heater, wiring, thermistor / pcb. (Main control board).

The new flashing light, PreWash (this is the only one on my list for a fault code indication). indicates a fault with the thermistor.

You would need to check by taking the door apart that the thermistor hasn't come off it's mount by the dispenser.

You would then need access to and be able to use a multimeter to test the heater and wiring to ensure they are closed circuit.

Hotpoint fdw60 dishwasher, heater not heating water or drying.

If the heater is ok and the wiring is also not burnt out, then the fault will likely be the heater relay on the pcb. (Which means usually replacing the board).

AQUARIUS FDW60. THA FAST AND DELICATE LIGHTS KEEP FLASHING.

I had the same problem with my Hotpoint FDW60 and read all the online reviews about how baddly made the FDW60 is and after taking it apart I totally agree.

As the warning lights were indicating a faulty heating element I checked it to find that it was not working. I bought a replacement for £43 at my local electrical store (I think they then ordered it online). Taking the bottom off is easy but once off, it is very difficult to actually get to the element, but it can be done. I had to buy new hose clips to fasten the rubber pipe each side too. It has been on twice today and so far so good.

I have read some message boards and have seen that some people have had to replace the element a number of times, so I will wait and see what happens.

Be aware the heating element is not your usual heating element, it looks more like a insulated metal tube: http://www.buyspares.co.uk/cgi-bin/search.pl?query=heating+element+fdw60

Good luck

HOTPOINT DISHWASHER FDW60

Hi,

I have just had my dishwasher fixed by Hotpoint, as the heater was working and the dishwasher only stopped with the fast and delicate lights just before the drying process he replaced the main control board. This has solved the problem, I suspected the fault to be the thermistor as the heater seemed to be getting to hot but I had no idea where it was.

It turns out the thermistor is attached to the main control board and hangs down behind the front door that gives just a rough temperature level for the main control board.

As it's soldered directly onto the control board I would suggest replacing the whole control pcb for anyone with this fault unless you can find any spec details for the thermistor.
