MAKE SURE ALL THE CONTROLES ARE SET CORRECTLY R-R GAIN CLOCKWISE FULLY, SQUALCE COUNTER CLOCKWISE FULLY AND HAS THE RADIO BEEN MODIFIED FOR THE 11 METER BAND BY SOMEONE
For 11 meter (CB) the standard 40 channels will be the exactly same as the "EU" set of frequencies (channels). However the "UK" 11 meter (40 channels) and the U.S.A. 40 11 meter (40channels CB) will not work together at all. This includes any actual Citizen Band radio, excluding Export 10 an 12 meter radios often labeled as "CB'S" which they are not.
there are 2 band switches. one is a rotary switch and one is a slide switch. the rotaryhas a/d e/b and f/c. the band high low switch will determine weather the first position is d or a.so there are a total of 6 band switches. I can't remember witch band is cb band. I recommend getting a frequency counter so you can see what channel you are on. 27.205 is channel 20.
somebody tampered with internal adjustors seems to me. you can take a screw driver and turn off receive for so many channels but crank it for higher band. It was probably locked on a upper channel for a Friendly chat station say Channel #28. Where they stayed and talked on 1 channel all time. Could be that. Maybe its got broke wires or board on that other set of channels or parts fried, chip bad etc. Get it checked out at CB shop. if you have any knowledge, turn IF to receive and crank up receive inside radio. If don't know anything take to shop..sounds like simple fix to me.
Radio On
Volume comfortable Listening level
Squelch Open (Hearing Noise)
Mic Gain Up unless told by receiving station to reduce it.
10 Khz Off
pa-fm-am set to Am
e-Tone to off
I believe this model has CB on Band C which is switch down on Low and C position you will know when you hear truckers on 19 which band is CB
CB channel 19 is one of the most frequently used; it is unofficially designated as a "highway information" channel. It is not always hot, however. It is possible you may have your squelch control set too high. If you cannot even hear static, this may be the case. If you can, the channel may just be empty. Try scanning up and down the band until you find something.
