I just bought a casio brigade phone with the desk top cradle charger. i can't get it to work. i can plug in the charger the regular way and it charges no problem. i just can't get it to charge when i put it in the cradle. i was wondering if maybe there is a option on the phone that turns off its ability to be charged this way and it somehow turned itself off. any help would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: My Casio Exilim S770 won't turn on or charge

Wow I can't believe how many people this happened to. I have the same camera and is under warranty but they said would not cover the battery. I got on Ebay and purchased another battery that came with a charger and was only 12.99 for the pair. The battery is an NP20. It is not the camera or the battery it is the charger. Apparently there is a problem with the charger on this. Trust me get a new charger and the battery will charge and work. Thanks

SOURCE: My battery wont charge.

Hi I am Vortah The red light is usually an indicator that the battery is charged however in this instance as you are saying it isn't the battery has possibly gone short and you will need to replace the batteries . They have a type of internal memory and only charge a certain amount of times before they no longer accept charge and merely overheat during charging .. But I have to say it may be possible the charger is faulty as if the internal rectifier that charges the battery has gone short that may also bring the red light on in some chargers .. so try the battery or as I would do take it along to your nearest dealers and get them to check it . it may save you money in the long run you could be buying a battery you still cant use when you actually need a charger .. Hope this helps regards Vortash

SOURCE: my casio gz boulder phone

Hi, it's a common known problem that this phone's internal charging system FAILS after about 4-12 months...I have to literally tie a rubber band to the charger's "line" while the phone is being charged to get it to work. (You know--when the red light comes on it's charging--so you have to get the charger line in a certain place & keep it there so it will work.) A real pain in the ***--I'm 17 days from an upgrade--which sux, because I like this phone other than this. Of course, verizon no longer sells it--probably for this very reason. Good luck & just keep the phone as "still" as you can when it's charging. Oh, and I have the charger cradle--that was the first thing to GO as far as charging. I WON'T WORK AT ALL....

Binatone bb200

I've had exactly the same problem. The connector that plugs into the docking cradle (or phone if you don't use the cradle) is faulty. Mine had a short circuit. Try gently moving the cable closest to the connector. Alternatively, turn off the charger at the mains socket, leave for 10 minutes or so then switch back on. If that doesn't prove it and you're lucky enough to have another charger, try that to see if the original is at fault.

Be warned that even though it's a 5.2V charger and a common USB type should work, getting hold of the identical USB connecting cable I found impossible. I had no luck sourcing a replacement Binatone charger either.

In the end I removed the sticker from the base of the cradle revealing the screw then undid it to dismantle the cradle. The cradle is very simple so don't worry. I cut the USB plug off the charger, bared & tinned the wires then soldered them directly to the docking contacts (wire with feint white broken line is +5V and should go to CH- solder pad, the plain black 0V wire goes to CH+). You'll have to cut a small notch in the lower edge of the cradle to pass the wires through before reassembly.

The soldering's very easy but don't overheat the pads otherwise the contacts will fall off which might be tricky to reposition. I'm quite handy with a soldering iron but if you're not, it's only a 5 minute job for anyone that's competent.

Can I charge a Casio Exilim battery throug USB to my PC

No. The EX-Z60 does not charge the battery through the USB port. You need to use the supplied charger. Alternatively, if you have the EX-Z60DX cradle, you can plug the camera into the cradle and plug the cradle into a wall outlet. However, using the cradle will not let you charge the camera through the USB port either.

Alright so i wanted to know if i can charge my Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z700 Digital Camera without the actual charger but just plug it into my computer and it'll charger that way. i've tried this...

No. You need to plug the camera into the cradle and plug the cradle into a wall outlet. Connecting the camera to the computer merely drains the battery faster, as the camera has to spend juice communicating (or trying to communicate) with the computer, even if only to say it has nothing to say.

you can get a dock to charge it on..u will need your wall charger and it plugs into the desktop charger/dock/cradle or whatever u wanna call it. Then u bypass the need for a port. Bad thing is u cant use the car charger easily without taking the dock with u in the car/but can be done! I am looking for replacement ports for casio phones..if anyone knows where u can buy them?

My casio boulder will not charge how do I fix it

Hi, you can check with another charger first to know exactly what the problem really is before you can take the next step .Also check the phone on another charger.

After checking with another charger, if charger work, that means the charging sport where you plug in the charger is not working and need to be replaced.

If when you check the charger with another phone and and the charger doesn't work, replace charger.

Take care.

Hi i have a Casio Exilim 8.1 digital camera, ive had it about a year and its worked fine but ive just put it on charge and on the charger thers a red flashing light, were normally the red light doesnt...

The cradle is defective.  Casio replaced the first one of mine for free then they told me to sit and spin when the second one broke 8 months later.  I had only used the camera ~ 10 times.  So, I went to a big box electonic store (Best Buy) and bought a Digipower travel charger.  It charged the battery up just fine.  I also bought a Dynex Memory Card Reader/Writer to transfer the photos to  my computer.  Good luck.  The defective cradle is a known problem that Casio is refusing to correct.

Downloading digital photos to my Vaio Computer

Visit this link for the manual. Click this link for Frequently Asked Questions?

You have two options for downloading pictures.
  1. Use a SD card reader, fast download.
  2. Use the camera and the USB Cradle (Page 180-187 of your owner's manual) There are many more steps than can be described here. The overview is:
    1. Plug power to the cradle
    2. Connect the cradle to the computer using the USB cord
    3. Mount the camera in the cradle
    4. View and copy the images from the camera using your favorite software. Perhaps Picasa2 from Google.
The battery model is NP-20 and the charger for this is "the special BC-10L Battery Charger" and can be purchased here, or the casio model from here.
