I have a scotts ridding lawn mower that is made by john deere. it is 16 hp and a 42 in. cut. i bought it used and it dont have any manuels. the deck belt broke and i have no idea how to put the new one on. how do i obtain a routing guide for it.

check belt and pulleys --if belt to loose wont turn blades to cut the grass

You can look at the manuel that came with the mower or if you did not get one, go to the JD mower web site and look up you model and download the needed documentation. If that is not possible contact the local JD mower dealer and get a copy of the mower deck docs and look at the instructions for belt replacement.

It is probably full of grass in the mower deck. Clean it out and try again.

The belt travels from eng. pulley directly to the transaxel pulley riding on the inside/center of the tractor side of the idler pulley. make sure the belt retainer is on the idler pulley.
