You may have a vehicle that never had the Sync system installed... Sync first appeared on some models in 2008, a few more on 2010, and then a few more in 2011... Sometimes the vehicles have a Phone icon on the center console near the radio controls... this button was only meant to be pushed to "Mute" the volume while you spoke on your handset phone.
If you have the Phone Icon and the Mouth (with sound waves) icon on the right side of your steering wheel, then you may have the Sync system... see this video for more details...

You need to sync your phone. There is a video on utube on hoe to sync your phone with the Ford Sync system. It worked for me.

Try pairing a different phone with the system and see if the problem still exists. This could be a phone issue. The Edge Sync system uses the phone for commands. It totally depends on the phone to process all requests.

If you tried a different phone with no results log into www.syncmyride.com and check to see if you have the latest software level for your Edge.

My car has the phone symbol but when I press it it says "no phone"
you probably have the sync system which needs a compatible bluetooth phone to be paired to the car before it will work. your local dealership should be able to help you with that. you can also check out syncmyride.com for instructions and a list of compatible phones.

I need a diagram to show where the clutch pedal spring fits on a 53 focus.the top bit is obvious but i cant find where the bottom hook fits ---.frosty
The clutch pedal return spring fits onto the cicular pressed steel ring that surrounds the clutch linkage. There is a tiny hole on the top edge of the steel pressing. Difficult to see and best found by feeling around top edge but take care as pressed steel has sharp edges.
