Try BSR 1. I have a 440 and only one of the BSR settings works--don't know why--just is.

Check to make sure the BSR is firmly plugged into the machine head. Don't know why they made this so difficult. I find I usually have to practically stand on my head to find it and then plug it in.

If it still does not work, perhaps Bernina did not calibrate the BSR to your machine. They recommend, whenever it goes for service, to be sure to bring the buttonhole foot and BSR so they can be calibrated.

What do you mean by "bobbin switch?" I have a 440 but cannot think of what you could possibly be asking.

Hm, sounds like the machine is not recognizing the dongle or the embroidery cord. You may need to have Bernina test it for you.

I would recommend using an authentic bobbin case and bobbins for your Bernina. Your dealer will have them. Just be sure to tell them the model you have.

FWIW, you can remove the shuttle hook and bobbin case by turning the 2 little black levers at the bottom right and left in the bobbin area, Once you do that, the circular piece that holds the bobbin mechanism in place can drop down and the bobbin case and shuttle hook can be removed as one unit. You should probably do this frequently to brush out the lint and debris and to oil the "shelf" where the hook resides. Oiling the hook shelf should be done about every 8 hrs of sewing.

Sounds like the thread sensor is dirty so it is not reading the thread correctly.
