Hi, I have a Dell VOSTRO 1510 laptop. It has an icon of bluetooth where there is an icon of wi-fi too. I have installed bluetooth driver from Internet on my laptop. I am using Windows XP on my laptop. The message I can see on my desktop screen is 'Press Fn+F11 or Radio on/off button to activate bluetooth.' As I don't know where is or in fact is there a Radio on/off button in my laptop so I go for Fn+F11, which is the same key combination to activate wi-fi as well. But whenever I press Fn+F11, only wi-fi's light is on & not the one meant for the bluetooth icon. Neither it seems that my laptop's bluettoth is activated as after pressing Fn+F11 & hence turning atleast wi-fi on; I search the bluetooth devices near my mobile phone using my mobile phone's bluetooth. But my mobile phone is not able to detect my laptop's bluetooth so I think my laptop's bluetooth is not working. Can ynyone please guide me to solve my problem?

It sounds like you do not have the driver or the support software for your WiFi adapter installed.
At the Dell Support web site, you can download the appropriate Networking drivers and support software.
Once you've done this, you should see a WiFi utility in the tray with the Bluetooth symbol.
Well, its the problem of the bluetooth driver. Reinstalling the bluetooth driver might help you. Sometimes you need to click the bluetooth icon and open the "Bluetooth Places", then the bluetooth will get on.
Internal Bluetooth card, service manual link: http://support.dell.com/support/edoc....htm#wp1179838 Make sure you have the correct drivers installed for your OS and make sure that both wireless and bluetooth are enabled in the system setup. To do this, boot into the system setup by rebooting your computer and tapping on F2. On the left pane, look for Wireless (navigate using the arrow keys) then hit Enter, then navigate to bluetooth, make sure the setting is set to ENABLED (complete instructions for navigations and options selections should be illustrated on the lower portion of the setup screen). Once ENABLED, reboot into your OS and go into to control Panel open the bluetooth icon, make sure your external Bluetooth device (phone/smartphone, etc.) is set to discovery. Search for the device to see if it is detected. The Bluetooth Icon will appear in the systray (lower right corner of your desktop task bar. Right click on that icon and then select the option you need. Make sure you enter the same device code in both the laptop and the device you want the computer to connect to. Hope this helps FixYa! The Dell QuickSet utility Wireless options can cause these issues.
There is a setting to always deactivate on battery.
Make sure this is not set up. The correct setting would be Always
active on battery or Always On, or no power saving options for Wi-Fi. Depending on the version of QuickSet which you have.
It is known to glitch when power is removed from the machine while the wireless is in use.
Please let us know if you have any futher questions. If this information was helpful, please take a moment to rate the solution. Thank you.

Boot to the system BIOS and ensure that a Bluetooth card is actually installed and seen by the system. I'm pretty sure bluetooth is a option on the 1510 and you may not have a BT card.
