SOURCE: On certain cycles, the motor makes a very loud humming noise.
quite possible that noise is from foriegn debris( ie.chicken bone of pistachio shell, toothpicks) getting into macerator/chopper assy, wouldnt panic just yet, give it a fewloads to try to clear itself, a few screws leading down through the top of motor assy (under lower spray arm should give you access to assy if needed
SOURCE: I have sand in tall glasses when washed on the top shelf
We had the same problem until we started using the little cakes of detergent with the Jet Dry Power Ball in the middle. Now it washes great. This after going through so much vinger and CLR to clean the coils!
SOURCE: dishwasher finished cycle, but still full of water
take some drainig liquid and let it sit in there over nite if that does not work take out the drain and take out the old grub manualy (i think what u want to put in the dishwasher is vinagear or draino something
SOURCE: black residue
The black residue is possibly rust from iron pipes. I have an old house with iron pipes and when the washer opened the valve that lets water in from the supply hose it did so suddenly and created a "water hammer" that shook the pipe. The hose supplied with the washer became clogged with this black rust material and needed to be replaced. I replaced it with a different type that did not have a spill proof valve and added an "air cushion". An air cushion is a short 6" vertical pipe teed before the valve. It fills with air bubbles and cushions the shock of that valve turning on thus stopping the pipes from shaking and the loosing of interior pipe corrosion. If the black residue is hard and gritty it is rust not rubber. Wipe the inside of the washer clean of it. Disconnect the supply line and fill a five gallon bucket with it. If rust is coming from the inlet you will see it in the bucket. If you don't have a shut off valve at the washer you'll want to put one on now as turning off the main releases quite a lot of material from the pipes as they drain.
