For the ASUS VH197D LED Monitor, turn it upside down so you are looking into the base of the stand. Squeeze the plastic tabs to unlock the base and pull. This will remove enough of the base to make it wall mounted and you can quickly attach the base if so desired. If you want to permanently remove the base and stand, remove the two screws that are now visible after the base is removed and pry out the plastic stand. This will break it off at the hidden screws. You will be left with a short metal stub that can be folded in.

There a 4 set screws on the back of the TV. There is actually an arrow pointing down to show you what direction the pedestal. Remove thesze screws and the pedestal comes right off.

SOURCE: Can not remove the stand to mount it on the wall

If the Aquos 46 is anything like the Aquos 42, the monitor is attached to the base with machine screws (bolts). They are located in the lower back portion of the monitor, probably need an Allen wrench to loosen and remove. Once that is done, the base can be removed from the monitor. Best way is to lay the monitor face down on a tabletop padded with foam, a quilt or blanket, etc to protect the screen as you work. Remove the stand from the monitor, not the monitor from the stand; it is easier and safer that way.

SOURCE: how to remove the stand from samsung LCD TV

Place the tv on its screen flat on a soft surface,
you need to remove all the screws, not just the stand one marked.
Lift the back panel and then you will be able to slide down the stand, when you have removed the back cover you will also see where how your wall mount will fit to the chassis.
Place all the screws back on the back lid.

Remove stand from monitor

there will be screws on the back which will allow you to remove the stand, then on the back of the monitor their should be 4 screw holes, use these to attach a a flat plate wall bracket to it.
but if you can't remove the stand, then put a clap speaker bracket on the wall & just clap the base of the monitor, as this type of bracket can be adjusted both in & out & up & down.

ASUS P4SP-MX detect the new LCD monitor VH197D as an CRT. picture is stretched; circle's becoming a ellipse. Can you help me!?

Wide screen monitor distortionDepending upon the screen resolution that has been set inDisplay, the image will be distorted on these large wide screen monitors.
Create a large circle image using a draw program such as Paint (hold down theShift key as you create the circle as it will draw a perfect circle).
Open Control Panel - Display - Settings tab and adjust the Screen resolutionslider, increase or decrease the screen resolution then bring the circle imageto the front and check the image, if the circle is still distorted then changethe screen resolution and check the circle again until you are satisfied withthe image of the circle. When you are satisfied then click apply.

How do I remove the base from the TV so it can be wall mounted without leaving the stand attachment attached to the TV

depends on what TV you have. Most TV models i've dealt with, you need to remove the whole back of the TV and take the base out. Some smaller LCD monitor bases like Dells are attached only by a latch. Some bases are held together by 4 screws where the VESA mount would go.
