I just installed XM into my 2005 Chevy Equinox and I have an aftermarket Jensen VM9313 radio in the vehicle. When I turn the car on and the XM starts up it says "Check XM Tuner" after about 5 min the stations come in and work fine. Today I was coming to work and in the 25 min drive it never came on said "Check XM Tuner" the whole time.

Having the same problem with the vm9512. According to Sirius, the Universal SCC1 will work, however it requires an additional Jensen specific "translator" that I have yet to find on any site thus far. Also, I asked the folks at Jensen and they said the Sirius tuner is "supposed" to be available this summer. Hmmm, we'll see.

If you have the magnetic antenna, check it for a little nick on the cable on the outside of the car where water might get in to it. A little water can short the ground and the antenna wire. You also can wash (with lots of water around where the antenna cable is) and see if it happens again, then you will know it not just the weather

There is an internal battery to hold the station and presets. It is probably no good. Either that or there is something very wrong with the unit.

Here is what I recommend. Call XM. Tell them your receiver is not longer functioning correctly and that you are thinking about canceling your service because you don't have a receiver. They will then offer you a receiver because they don't make much money on them, the make their money on the service.

that's how you get a new free satilite radio.
