Have you accidentally turned all sounds off? I'm guessing Volume was turned off somehow.
1) Turn the phone off. 2) Restart phone. Don't touch volume controls yet. 3) go to 'Settings' and find 'Sounds'. Touch 'Sounds'. 4) go to 'Volume' and set every one to the maximum. 5) Call a friend and ask him/her to call/text/message and everything else. Does it work?
If that doesn't fix it, go to the last App or Widget you downloaded to your phone before the problem began and uninstall it. You can always re-install it. Sometimes Apps or Widgets mess with Sound and other settings in our wonderful mobile/cell phones.
If that doesn't fix it, you can always try any retail cell phone store and just ask. Most of them, when they aren't really busy, like to solve problems. They do it all day long.
Good luck.

Do a battery pull by removing the battery, and make sure to give it time to completely boot up. If you are texting while you are receiving messages which is very common, sometimes it eliminates the sound while you are texting because it cannot render the sound while you are a sending a message. If thats not the case, then make sure to go to your sound settings and turn it completely up, if that doesn't work try to apply a different alert ringer for it.
Nokia phones call them "profiles" , a set of preset modes where you can have different volume levels and tones for different occasions i.e General, meeting, loud, silent etc. I was suggesting trying a different preset mode If available to see if it worked for you.
I have had that problem several times.
1)I go to ringtones for text messages and just highlight the ringtone you want again.
-If that doesnt work- 2)I just restart my phone and it seems to come right back.
It tends to happen to me when my phone gets kind of low on the battery.
Go to Profiles, and choose a Customized Profile. Rename it to whatever you prefer. In this profile you can select your ring tone, message tone, volume, etc. I only had to do this once, and everything worked perfectly!
Don't worry. It could be that the sound drivers are not instaled. Simply download the drivers from support.dell.com by entering the service tag. The sound should be back. The battery has nothing to do with sound. From the same website, install the BIOS update. That shoule get the battery message go away. Incase that does not happen, then you may have to buy a battery. The batteries have 1 year of warranty from the date of invoice.
I work in DELL, so please try what I ahve mentioned and you should be happy!!! If not, post a message.
what do you mean changes spkr what does that mean
