My Magnavox dvd/vcr player won't turn on when I push the power button. I'm thinking it may have been fried in the lightning storm... how can I see if there is any life left?
SOURCE: no sound thru dvd player, but fine for tv and vcr
Just had the same problem and it is fixed for me. With NO DISC in the player go to the System Menu. Next Navigate to Preferences on the top of the screen.
You will set an option titled "Default". Select that and it seems to reset the player to default settings and fixes the sound.|

SOURCE: code for magnavox vcr/dvd player
I am going to assume you are talking about a code for a universal remote control.
It could be one of these:
434 934
The website with the most codes I have seen is http://dogbytecomputer.com/codes.htm#DVD CODES
SOURCE: HOW DO I CONNECT MAGNAVOX DVD/ VCR TO VIZIO FLAT SCREEN
Is simply. get the audio/vido cables and look on the back of the TV and connect from the audio video outputs from the combo to the audio video inputs on the tv. remember the colors of the terminals and connect them that matches the red, white (audio) and the yellow (video). Using the remote locate the button "input" or "source", and select video 1 or 2, depending where you connected it.
SOURCE: need a code for a magnavox dvd/vcr com for a jumbo universal remo
7-1-1 and 0-7-1-1 are the Magnavox universals.
Without Codes:
With the DVD/VCR unit on, continue to depress the remote controller's "Code Search" button for about ten seconds, release, & the light on the remote controller should stay on. Continue to tap the remote controller's UP or DOWN channel button ONLY UNTIL the DVD/VCR unit responds. Then, press the power button on the remote controller once the channel has changed. If the DVD/VCR unit shuts off, then press the power button again to turn it back on. If the DVD/VCR unit turns on, then the remote controller has been correctly programmed. Otherwise, repeat this whole process until the remote controller is correctly programmed.
