I had the same issue with my system, and had to sent it in for repair. They told me the blue ray disk drive was failing. It cost me $105.00 for the repairs. But when I got my system back from Sony, it was like brand new with all new parts.
If the two disk in question work just fine on another playstation, then you narrowed down the problem to your playstation. You have a couple of options at this point.
I would recommend you try cleaning the playstation. The link below will go over details on how to resolve disk read errors.
Alternatively, you may have a damaged internal component. You might have a local repair guy you can contact or contact Sony directly for repairs. This is unlikely, as other games work just fine, yes?
try inspecting the disc for scratches. If it still won't work, try another disc that has worked in the past. If neither work, you will need to take the PS3 in for repairs. Do a quick google for local repair shops.
Unfortunately this is a disk drive failure, and usually can only be fixed by sending it into sony for repairs. There may be some local shops that say that they can fix it, but honestly Sony's service is always the best.

Sorry to hear about your problem, but hope you can get it fixed soon!
If it is a certain disk that your Playstation wont read then its more then likely your disk is corrupt or unreadable. Perhaps its time to buy a new disk?
If your problem is that most or ALL your disks are unreadable then im sure the problem is to do with the playstation itself. (Proberly the lens again.) Contact Sony on their freephone and explain the problem to them. The default warranty is 1 years free cover. If you've had your playstation under a year then Sony will happily replace your console for free. Usually takes 2-3 working days.
Hope this helps!
Sounds like the laser in the drive is bad. You could send it to sony for repairs, but that would take weeks and still cost you. Try CPR in NYC, they do repairs in house, and usually have them done within a week. You could ship your unit directly to them.
Here is the website:

Hope it helps!
This can be caused by a dirty laser in the drive. Try cleaning the laser withe a q-tip and alcohol. If this does not fix the problem, the laser may need to be replaced. Contact Sony and see if the unit is still under warranty with this site: https://service1.us.playstation.com/rma.htm?_flowExecutionKey=_cBB963E55-EB14-B132-4004-8EC0B0021F26_kFEDF8151-1595-A6FC-DCB0-2B10AAD93EBA
If the unit is not under warranty go to www.wiredextreme.com. We are a console repair company based in Texas, and we can get your console up and running again. All our repairs come with a 90 day warranty that covers the whole console not just what we repair. We also offer extended warranties up to 4 years at additional cost. If you have any other questions/concerns feel free to email [email protected] or call 214-222-5788.
Make sure you are using the right disk. It must be Playstation 3 format software not a Xbox game. If you are still having difficulties playing the game you might need to send it in for repairs.
I would suggest contacting your local game stores to see if they do console repairs. Your laser has probably gone bad. Either that or send it in to Sony.
I have the same model, What could be going wrong is your Power Callibration for the Laser might be off (Look on Youtube for Repairs on how to fix this) The site is : www.youtube.com Search "PS2 Repairs" :)
