You're either losing high voltage or power supply is not producing the horizontal drive signal, Check for 130v on the collector of the horizontal output transistor, if you're missing your voltage, you have a power supply problem. If voltage is too high you have something open in the power supply such as a low value resistor. If its low, something is shorted in power supply, possibly voltage regulator ic.

Toshiba tv 32a43 power button flashes red and won't turn on

Check to see if horizontal output is shorted, But will have a damper diode, between the base and emmitter, will read 0 ohms. That's okay to check like that, Check for shorts between collector and emitter and collector and base. If ok, check for 130v dc on the collector of the horizontal output transistor.

Hi,
Let me know is it Toshiba 32A43 tv or any other model?
Do you get sound of tv in any input, like dvd playback or cable channels?
Can you test voltage in circuit board with multimeter, it will help me to diagnose problem.
I'll try best to help you to get this tv fixed.
Thanks.

The red light is blinking and the tv sounds like it on when unplugged and replugged; but there is a black screen.

Hello,

If you are having sounds but no picture, it is either the lamp or the t-com board.

But if it does bot display anything or make any sound at all but from inside the unit it sounds like there is power in the unit, then it means there is a problem with the main panel of the television. Most likely a bad capacitor.

Have the unit checked for bad capacitors and replace them and the television will be in good condition once again.

Take care and good luck

Toshiba 32a43 32' picture garbled mess

If you can get the tv to display the blue blackground(usually happens when there is no antenna or cable feed to tv) check to see if the whole screen is a solid blue, if it shows discolored areas around the screen then you might have to "demag" the screen. See if you can rent a demad coil from a tv shop and with tv on turn the coil in circular movements all over the front of screen till blue is solid.good luck!

Screen dark,wont stay on. 52hm95

Here's the online manual for your TV:

http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/tacpassets-images/models/42HM95/docs/42HM95_om_e.pdf

Read the section about the red/green lights in front. It sounds like the lamp went out. Mine consistently goes out once every year to year and a half. If you plan on keeping the television, purchase two bulbs, so you have one on hand in case your new one goes out.

Good luck.

Toshiba 32A43 Horizontal Bars, pop, no picture.

First of all, there is no such thing as a "high power flyback converter". There is a flyback transformer, but if it was bad you would have absolutely no picture at all. The fact that you dont even know what the basic components are suggests that you should not be "diving in" to someone else's TV. Do everyone a favor and allow an experienced tech to service the set.

Bad lamp?

If you have the owners manual look on page 64 and see what it says there about the light lighting up in the front of the unit. if you do not have the owners manual, you can get one for free here: http://tacpservice.toshiba.com/ConsumerProductSupport/Manuals/TV/2004/52-62HMX84_E_R1_093004.pdf
