The timing is definetly out, I sew for many years is not the needle or thread

It needs a professional service center repairman to review the action of this machine. Do not try an mess with it yourself as you could do more harm to the system that what has already been done.

I have manual. Threaded correctly. Changed needle. Won't stitch.

Could be any one of these .-
1) check needle is in right direction.
2) if needle in right direction, check that the crochet hits the needle at the right spot.
3) check the tension on thread.
4)check bobin is corectly threaded .

Sews 1/4" and then sews in place

1) remove upper and bottom threads. Try sew without threads.
Is fabric transported corectly?

NO:
- Drop feed dog button is OFF
- Dust under stitch plate
- Transporter malfunction (must be taken for a service to the BERNINA dealer)

YES:
- Upper or bottom thread jammed
- The upper thread tension is too tight.
- Wrong needle used (probably small ...)

Singer5050 sews a little then jams top thread in pieces in bobbin area

Start from the begining.
Use your Instruction Book and make sure the machine is threaded correctly.
Put in a new needle.
Adjust the top tension to about halfway.
Fit a fresh wound bobbin that does not have all sorts of different threads still wound on it(a bad habit with a lot of people).
Make sure the bottom tension is correct.
Make sure the bobbin is fitted corectly.
Set the machine to do basic straight stitch(mid range stitch length).
Try sewing and see if the problem is solved.

My thread keeps bunching up on the bottom side. HOw do I solve this.

Is the bobbin installed corectly? Try taking it out and installing it where the bobbin rotates counter clockwise. Make sure that the thread is not of a weight that that your machine is not rated for (apohlstery thread does not work well on some machines). Make sure that it is slid through all of the proper notches and use the wheel to have the needle pull it up before beginning to sew. If this doesn't work refer to a manual for that brand.

Thread keeps breaking and i can't get the stitch setting to go from stretch stitches to normal stitching

Be sure to check that the machine is threaded properly into the needle. Also look at the instruction book to be sure you have the bobbin inserted corectly and that the thread is place properly (threaded correctly) in the bobbin area. Some machines have a diagram on the machine, but if you do not sew frequently; it's easy to mis-thread the bobbin. Did your bobbin thread wind properly onto the bobbin (not loose or loopy). That too, can be a problem. Best of luck. Susan

White 2037 Bobbin Filling

turn your thread 3 turns to the right, clockwise,
then pass theend of the thread, under the coming thread and give it another 3 turns to the right.
For better results, always remove old thread from bobbin before filling it up.
