Television phillips les couleurs sont moins claires

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some pics of convergence problems.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

sounds more like the fluid in the blue and green CRT's needs to be replaced. Check the fluid and see if it is cloudy. If so - that is your problem. This is common for this series of tv.

My 60inc phillips magnovox has poor color, what do i have to do?

we just bought a 55 inch phillips magnavox and told it was working fine when we got it home and turned it on it was a red screen and was really foggy. we looked up some tv repair places and ONLY 1 told us it was the picture tube and to look down them with a flashlight for bacteria! sure enough the green and blue had it. so we found one place that would sell us the coolant fluid that you have to change the others could get it in or wanted us to bring the tv to them. we did it our selves the stuff was $17.00 a bottle or if we took it in it would be about $375.00. we have a great picture now and it wasn't as hard as all the other repair places said.

Color & sharpness problem

Sounds like you need Coolant fluid change, this is the fluid under the Lenses. If you have not done this before I suggest that you get some one who is qualified. Because if the coolant leaks and get to the circuit board, there goes your tv. You need new fluid in the 3 CRT's. If you look down with the back off and looking in the lense, you would see contamination in the fluid, this needs to be taken out and cleaned and replaced with new fluid. The fluid can come from places like MCM electronics corp.

Color problem with Phillips 53" projection tv

Bet the fluid is bad. You can take the back off and look into the green and blue lens. See if the picture is clear. If cloudy the fluid is bad. Be careful when doing this. Changing the fluid should be done by a tech.
