SOURCE: THUNDER 5601 WHEN VEHICLE TURNED ON, SUBS BOOM, THEN WORKS OK. ALSO WHEN RADIO TURNED OFF

If the amp produces no boom with no signal input cables connected, I'd suggest using an LOC.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

SOURCE: my mtx thunder 1501d car amp making noise in the subwoofers

This is common with pioneer head units, the rca jacks are not properly grounded and this lets engine noise come through the rcs cables. This thread explains a fix http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=337644.

SOURCE: i have a mtx thunder 1501d..i have the power cord

Hello tonytone54, The ground should go directly to the vehicle frame, never through a cap, fuse, or anything else. Also, if you are connecting positive through a cap, make sure that you charge the cap before connecting it. Hope this helps.

Hey I have a rockford fosgate t2500bdcp-1 when ever the bass is about to hit the amp goes to protect mode and comes back on

If you can tell that it is about to hit and the amp goes into protect mode, the amp is being over driven on the input.

Jbl a3001 goes into protect mode when bass hits. Wrkd then just stopped. Amazon replaced the amp with a new one, new wire, loc, rca, grnd locatn. No dice. Ideas?

Bad or shorted voice coil on sub maybe. If you have two subs try them one at a time to see if it goes into protect mode. Whatever sub does it is bad.

So i have installed my amp, epicenter, all wiring is done, hace great ground.. But once i turn my car on to sound check everything starts fine but after turning up the volume a bit.. My amo goes into...

It sounds like you have your gain to high. best way to solve this is by turning the gain way down to - or lowest number , then turn everything on and upto the volume you desire, then slowly up the gain. also avoid using bass boost, I agree it sounds great but it puts strain on the amp and shortens life in the amp. with the bass boost off, you can adjust others (not the gain) to get bass.

Hope this helps

What would cause my fossgate t1500 to shut off everytime the bass hits hard I have two t12s that it pushes

Sounds like your amp isnt powerful enough to power your subs, whats the wattage of your amp and both subs? Its shutting off when hard bass hits to protect itself from blowing, a good feature as a blown amp means a new one. an amp should always be more powerful than the speakers / subs you are connecting to it. for 2 500w subs your looking at a 1200w amp minimum.

I have a sony 100 watt amp and it wont stay on for very long

You need more current.Bass notes require more juice and the best way to get more power for bass is to add a power capacitor to your system . They are easy to install and you can get one for less than a hundred dollars that should be enough for your amp and subs.

Quick question, amp problem

make sure you ground wires arent shared, meaning run each ground wire from each amp to its own grounding point

Bass sounds flat when volume is increased

probably your power is too short, increase your gauge wire, and your ground wire of the amplifier has to be shortly as possible, and the positive has to be enough to support peak power, you can also put a big capacitor on the positive wire to give some more power while the bass peak.

Amp went into protect, but front speakers sound distorted too

If the amp still goes into protect mode, the easiest thing to do is disconnect the RCA cables from the amp and see if still goes into protect mode (after turning off/on). If it does, the issue lies in the amp or the wiring to/from the amp (most likely case). Check to make sure no speaker wires came loose and touched +12V or ground (car body). From the sound of it, my guess is something internal to the amp died and will need repair.
