Maytag Front Load Intellisense 6.5kg

Would like to know how to use just a cold wash cycle. Lowest temp is 20degrees. I turned off the hot water tap but the washing machine stops saying hot water tap is turned off.

My Maytag front load washer (Intellisense 6.5 kg) doesn't allow me to do a cold wash cycle. I tried turning off the hot water tap but the machine stops & says that I have turned off the hot water tap. The lowest temp setting is 20 degrees but for some wash cycles, I would like to use only cold. Is this possible?

Washer may not be detecting water temp but water flow ..if you never use hot water may try hooking cold water to a Y-connector and then hooking to both hot and cold inlet valves ..however it is also possible washer is detecting inlet temps in which case you're out of luck ..i suspect the latter

Is it possible to modify the water temps that are preset to the types of cycles? Casual is warm/cold and Heavy Duty is hot/cold. I would like to do cold/cold but it won't let me

You could connect cold to both hot and cold washer connections by using a hose wye fitting . If the hot and cold supply faucets both open together you will have to cap the hot faucet. Hope this helps.

When going to wash with my GW11 it stops during the was cycle and the cold and hot water light blink and the machine beeps

Hi just read your posting. Now, when the hot and cold lights flash at the same time it means that you are not getting enough or no hot or cold water.Remove the cold and hot inlet hoses from the machine end and put the ends into a bucket. Now turn the taps on to see if you have water coming out the hot and cold hose and if the water pressure is adequate.Try a cold fill on the wash cycle and see how it goes.please reply and let me know if there is water coming out of the hoses at a good pressure and also what water temp do you select on the wash cycle.Looking forward to your reply.

After wash cycle still has water leaving bad smell on clothes

Most maytags don't heat water so even if you select hot wash it will only wash at the hot water temp available in your home, so you could end up with a cold wash

Cold wash/rinse selected, but only hot water is used

I have a Sears front load washer and I also noticed that on a cold wash/cold rinse cycle the machine was drawing hot water.

Laundry detergents require water to be at a certain temperature to aid in disolve. The machine adds sufficient hot water, regardless of the cycle, until that temp is reached. If I was to use a cold water detergent the machine, because it has no way of knowing which detergent I'm using, will still add hot water until that minimum temp is released. I don't know if there are machines available which include detergent type as an option?

Maytag washer

It sounds like you have the hot and cold water lines to the washer reversed.  Try turning off the tap for the hot water then setting the washer to just cold wash and then  hot washif you get nothing on the cold and cold water when set to hot they are probably reversed.  Typically if the auto-temp control is broken you will only get hot or cold coming out on any setting.

check out the hot water tap is on then check out the hot water valve for continuity (poss 27 ohms) then check for blockages in the small inline filter at the valve.
