There are several things that can prevent and icemaker from working.
1- Temp in freezer. If the temp in the freezer is higher than 6 degrees the ice makers thermistat will not call for water.
2- Water inlet valve. If the inlet valve is malfunctioning the silinoid may not be opening. Even if you are getting water through the door.
3- Faulty ice maker. If the internal components of the ice maker are no longer functioning it wont make ice.

To test the inlet valve. In the back of the fridge is and access panel near the bottom remove this panel and look at the inlet valve. now you should see 3 hoses. One is usually copper and runs directly from the house water supply. There will be two other hoses from the inlet. One leads into the fridge for the water in door feature. The other is for the icemaker. Switch the two hoses from the ice maker ( water in door and icemaker) than push the water in door feature and see if the water goes into icemaker. If it does not than replace inlet. If does and temp in freezer is below 6 degrees replace icemaker.

Neff K3990 American style fridge ice maker is not producing ice

The ice maker unit give the command to the water valve to relese water for a short time.
you cna check with volt meter on the water volve that got the pip go to the ice maker unit if it getting 120V for short time when the fingers of the ice maker making full round.
if you get 120v the problem is the valve (the ice maker and the water have difrent water path so its difrent valve used) if you dont get 120v or the fingers of the ice maker not turning then its your ice maker unit need to be replace.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

The ice maker works, I poored water directly to the ice maker and it works, don't understand what you mean with alligator clips, should i just take the hose leading to ice maker off, the intake water valve...

Wrong! ok what it is you have a double water valve. 1 valve goes to the ice maker and one goes to the water dispensor. what you need to do is take the valve that goes to the ice maker by tracing the water line from ice maker to the valve and jump it direct with 110 volts. if you get water by doing that the ice maker is bad if you dont get no water that way it will be the water valve

My freezer isnt working

this may sound stupid but is the ice maker turned on? Does it say "ice" in the display? If it does, check to see if the ice level arm is jammed into the upper position also make sure that the ice bin is in place (it actuates the ice maker switch) make sure there is no ice stuck to the top of the ice maker

Kenmore side by side makes no ice

the water line coming into the freezer may be iced up. or the motor that spins the ice "ejector" arm may be stuck. try spinning it manually (just dont force it).

Ice Maker Problem

The "ice maker module" is pretty vague. THere's lots of things that work together to make ice. Could be a bad motor, a bad solenoid (electric valve that lets the water in), a broken gear, a loose wire, or just frozen up. If you havent pinpointed the problem, you are probably wasting money buying a new "ice maker module". I'd advise looking for obvious problems (frozen/jammed, no water input, broken looking stuff) and if you dont see anything, call a repairman.
