Model CKL36-IL was installed just before I purchased home in October 2005. How long is warranty? Recently had it repaired (was dirty). Repairman said it looked/sounded like compressor was about to go out. Came home today to hot house...blower working but nothing cooling. Outside unit not doing anything, and when I place hand on center piece of metal on top it is very hot. Cannot get ac repair to call me back. Guess now question is, should I throw AC breaker?

A good idea would be to call a repairman again and have them check it again. They would probably know what to do to best help you in this situation. Factory parts warranty is five years all parts one year labor. Capacitor and/or fan motor has gone out and will need replaced. The breaker will throw itself off if the condition gets bad enough. Suggest not using until repaired, turn off breaker.
