You may want to check out the wiring in this Ceiling Fan Installation page which shows the wiring connections with a switch.

Make sure that when the switch is inserted into the box that the bare ground wire does not come into contact with the terminal screws on the switch.

3 Pole light switch won't turn on

Verify your wiring on the switch to make sure that you stripped them to the correct length and that they are fully inserted and tightened down. Also check that you put the correct wire in the correct terminal. The terminal marked HOT will have the either the 120 volt power coming from the breaker or the 120 volt switch leg going to the light fixture, depending on which of your 3-way switches is fed from the breaker. The terminals marked 1-pole and 3-way should have your traveler wires connected to them. Check the switch that you did not replace to see which two wires were used as the travelers, they will be the ones on the screws of the same color. The odd colored screw is the hot or switch leg, depending on which end of the circuit it is on (on the breaker side, it is the hot wire, on the light fixture side of the circuit, it is the switch leg.)

Is the cooper 6482v compatable with a hunter fan?

Hi, I'm an electrician and can answer your question.

This switch may be expected to operate your paddle fan / light correctly, when properly installed.

"Properly installed" means that the loads will not exceed the limits of the switch. For your Cooper 6482V-K this is: 300 watts of light (bulbs should be standard incandescent types - or other type such as compact fluorescent, but only if they are clearly labeled as "dimmable") and not more than 1.5 amps for the fan motor. This 1.5 amp rating of the switch is usually more than enough to handle most residential paddle fan / light fixtures. The lights must be connected to the continuously variable dimmer and the fan to the 4 speed switch - do not swap.

I hope this helps & good luck!

Avatar menu keeps poping up while the movie is playing

Make sure that the blu ray player is indicating that the latest firmware is installed on it. Press the setup button go to settings and down to version. Then record the version number. If it is the most current firmware version number after all call 800-237-4277 pressing 1 for all of the prompts. Inform the representative that with the firmware version number installed on your bluray player you are having this problem with Avatar. This helps because Sharp is
gathering information on any occurrences after an update and they are working on another update to resolve any occurrences

Keep poping the breaker on instllation

Check your wiring for short circuits. If you turn the switch on and it pops it may be in the switch box or up in the fan box. Also make sure the fan blades spin freely. A motor overload or short circuit would be the only reason for the breaker tripping immediately.

Maybe its stuck?
It happened to me before... Was wondering y it turns itself on/off and found out later that the power botton on remote is stuck.
U should hear the clicking sound everytime u turn it on or off.
Otherwise... something else is wrong with the power switch on ur remote.

Poping sound, sparks shooting out and 220 circuit breaker out

Did you move the breaker fully off before turning it back on? make sure the offending burner is off.

It sounds as though the element shorted out.

The light fixture stopped working.

Try installing a new switch if you haven't already. If you have make sure the wiring is correct and if all seems fine turn the breaker off and make sure its "hard" to reset, if not it's most likely the breaker... Unless you have a rat problem
