With Husqvarna two stroke oil it should be 50-1, with other manufacturers two stroke oil it is 25-1 as we do not know the quaility of other oils, always try to use Husqvarna oil.

Husqvarna 372xp won't start... Mysterious

I recently bought a brand new 372XP and spent the first day trying to start it as per the instruction manual with no success, never even fired once. Removed the plug to find plenty of fuel and that the plug has a good spark. Left it until the next day mainly to allow my arm to recover (& scour the internet for clues). I found a forum that said not to use the decompressor and sure enough without the use of the decompressor button it fired first go with the choke on then I reset the choke & it ran properly on the second pull. The decompressor button can be reset with fine nosed pliers or removal of the top cover by undoing three screws. Good luck it's a great saw once you know how to start it.

Haven't used my Huskqvarana Chain Saw, Model 61, 1983 in awhile. Am cleaning it up and can't find instructions for gas:oil ration if oil is necessary. Can you help me?

50:1 using fresh fuel and a modern synthetic saw oil mixed in it's own can. Be sure to shake the can thoroughly just before filling the tank each time to avoid oil starvation. Don't mix more than one gallon at a time unless your business is sawing. Be sure to replace the fuel filter and probably the fuel lines. Replace the air filter and clean the muffler. You may need to clean and rekit the carburetor if it has been in storage for some time. If the spark plug has worn electrodes, replace with new and gap at 0.020". Spark should be blue and 'snappy'. Make sure the chain oiling is correct by running the bar tip near some cardboard for a moment or so--it should leave a thin line of oil. Hope some of this helps!

What is the oil mixture for husqvarna chain model 235

50:1 fuel to oil ratio is correct for this saw. Be sure to use modern synthetic saw oil, not a petroleum product like outboard motor oil. Premix the fuel and oil in it's own can, and shake thoroughly just before filling the saw each time. With these modern fuel/oil ratios, serious engine damage can occur if not thoroughly mixed each time. Hope this helps!

What is the fuel/oil mix ration for a 345 Husqvarna Chainsaw?

Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – for use with IPL
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week
Fuel/Oil Mixture
  1. Use a quality 2 cycle oil and mix it to the OIL supplier's recommended ratio. Today I use Stihl 2 cycle oil mixed @ 50:1 in a Pioneer that I purchased new in 1980. There are no gouges or scratches on the piston or cylinder and I have no carbon build up on the piston top. The manual (on stone tablets) recommends 24:1. Over the years the mixture has leaned from 24:1 (Saw Recommendation) to 28:1 (Lawn boy mower recommendation) to 32:1 (Oil provider 2gal premium/8oz chainsaw 2-cycle engine oil - used for many years) and finally the last 5 (±) years 50:1 (1gal premium/2.6oz Stihl 2-cycle engine oil)
  2. Any fuel containing ethanol is not good with chainsaws. Mix what you expect to use within a few weeks. Anything over 1.5 months old use up in a 4 cycle engine. HTH

When I top up the chain oil it runs out of the opposite side really rapidly, I don't see how to fill it in the instruction booklet

Are you using bar oil? Is it less than 2 years old (warranted)? Did the chain come off and hit the tank?
I think your saw may have been impacted and the oil tank is broken. I didn't see an oil vent on the IPL but if the filler is on the bottom of the saw and you must lay it on its side to fill there must be one. Take it and your bar oil with you and stop by your friendly neighborhood Husky dealer. Ask what they think the problem might be. You might be pleasantly surprised. Purchase some 2 cycle oil, a new chain, some bar oil, something. When time for a new saw remember how they treated you.

I have pole saw model 108526-01 I need a new chain and a cap and bulb assembly where can I get these parts?

The good news is:
Your manual containing a parts list can be found here:
http://lawnandgarden.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/remington/100089-04_5.html
There is an IPL near the bottom, please save copy to your hard drive.

The part number for the oil cap & bulb assembly is 107319-02, I found it here:
http://www.remingtonpowertools.com/products.cgi?cat=11
I make no guarantees about availability. If you take the existing chain to a local chainsaw seller/mechanic they can almost certainly use it as a pattern to make a new chain

The bad news is:
Remington Power Tools have ceased production. Parts availability is limited to what is on hand. I recommend rather than purchase parts for this discontinued brand you put the funds toward the purchase of a new saw. Poulan offers 8 different electric models, have been in business for a very long time and are a subsidiary of Husqvarna. HTH
