Sounds like they were put in in the wrong place.. swap them..tighten with an air tool...the washer with the splines goes between the basket and the inner hub..the big washer goes behind the clutch basket.(goes on the shaft first)

SOURCE: clutch rattle

no there is not a kit available. I have tried it myself before and used other spec material for the damper in the clutch and made the rivets myself. Worked great but is very timely. I'd actually recommend buying a new basket. The side pedals on the original basket often get grooves from the clutch plates wearing on them which can cause clutch chatter too.

Hi!
Help is at Hand (Excuse pun),
This problem described strongly relates to a seizing clutch cable or frayed.
If you remove it try and pull/push the inner with your fingers there should be No resistance, you may get away with a good oiling but I would recommend replacement.
Good Luck!

SOURCE: something is rattling in tranny or engine?

Its worth openning again the side cover and re-inspect that nut, not bad too if you can remove the clutch basket taking care of the plates as how they are fitted so that you don't get confused on assembling.
Check for the wear on the basket where the clutch plates go in and are thn driven especially those notches, check too the gear that mashes with the clutch system for any wear and not bad to check the springs too in the clutch basket.

Hope this helps .

SOURCE: how to remove the clutch from my kdx 200

The simple way to do it is borrow an electric impact gun. (1/2" drive) If you jam something in there you can damage things.

Hello,
something is not fitted right inside or the new plates don't match the original outer or inner basket. This would cause the plates to "backlash" inside the clutch, especially at idling.
if that's not the case, you might have not tighten hard enough the main shaft nut and it came loose. You need a special tool to hold properly the inner drum.

DR650 dismantle. Save $$$

A recent motorcycle tear down to 3rd gear, should have required several "special suzuki" tools, none of which I needed, saving nearly $900. To undo clutch basket centre nut, simply take of drive sprocket and use 24mm socket over drive shaft to hold clutch basket still.

Putting a clutch together

hi there you need to take the clutch cover off after draining the oil ,remove the bolts going into the clutch basket take the springs out as well if you have the cash put in new springs when installing the clutch ,after you take the outer off then take out the plates and have acheck on size and wear ,then there should be a large nut and lock washer tap down the tab that stops the nut spinning loose then put your foot on the back brake and undo the nut this will be very tight if you have a air rattle gun this makes life a lot easier .then replacing the clutch basket it would be good sense to put a new bearing in the clutch houseing then put it back together in the oposite direction cheers hopes this helps cheers

Helllo, I need your help with my trimmer...are you familiar with the poulan pro pp125...I need to change the muffler, but can't get to one of the screws because the housing is in the way...I took all...

You need to remove the starter cover, to do this you need to remove the 3 screws holding the tube housing on, pull the housing and tube to one side , be carful not to stretch the throttle cable, behind here is the clutc, remove the securing nut and pull the clutch off, once of the starter housing will come away allowing acess to the muffler screws. When you re assemble do not forget the big washer behind the clutch, also make sure the clutc nut is tight as this also holds the flywheel on.

Clutch

Hi, you might find the nut holding the clutch basket onto the shaft has come loose, so instead of pulling the clutch plates apart you are just pulling the clutch basket along the shaft.
or if the bike has sat for a while you might find the clutch plates have stuck together, this isn't that rare, you can start the bike and roll it along at about 1st gear speed, then click it into gear, then pull the clutch in and rev the engine, this should make the plates loose again. hope this helps, please rate, thanks, good luck

remove the agitator and check the big nut that holds the drum on,also check the drive block, that is what the nut is screwed onto, and check the notches on the basket drive tube see if they are worn out

76 sportster...is clutch basket nut reverse thread???

If its the same model that my mate had years ago, then yes - its a left-hand thread. Also, watch out for the big spring behind it - the nut will catapult away from the bike as the last thread releases - hold it in a big piece of rag to undo.
