P2 - can't view ripped dvd's in full format

You need to rip and convert DVD to regular video and then uploading video to YouTube will be easy. Just follow below guide to do that.

There are several ways to do this, but you will have to have a DVD-ROM drive.  
Check the drive that you put discs into.  If it reads DVD-ROM or DVD WRITER on it, you can rip DVD's with it.

You will need some software to do it.  I recommend Magic DVD Ripper, though it costs money. See www.magicdvdripper.com .

A free utility I would reccomend, though it is considerably more limited in its features than Magic, is the aptly named Free DVD Ripper. See http://www.freewarezoom.com/archives/free-dvd-ripper for the download.

 The format (the letters on a file name after the dot, written as filename.format - i.e., magicdvdripper.exe, where exe is the format) I recommend you rip the DVD's onto is either MPEG or AVI.  With MPEG very high resolution is possible (in MPEG-4) and also medium resolution (MPEG-2, broadcast quality, or MPEG-1, lowering the quality quite a bit.)  AVI is only Microsoft Windows compatible, and is low quality, but if you plan to view on a portable media player, should suffice.
