Hi, no you don't. It is a four stroke engine and uses engine oil in the sump only. Regards Phil.

Cant get my power ate 8750 to start. Ran fine last year. Have changed spark plug, aded fuel stabilizer, will starting ether help?

My son in law drained the carborator 3 times to get the old gas out. Also put in an additive to the gas. He figured our unit had sat too long and the gas was getting old. It is running fine now. Just need to figure out how to idle it down.

Its a 2 or 4 cycle

Powermate 5000w is four cycle. Look for oil fill plug on the engine and make sure that oil level is correct. Two cycle engines do not have crankcase with oil (as oil is mixed with fuel).

Oil capacity and weight of oil

If it comes with a Briggs & Stratton 3.5 HP series 93400 engine, then the oil capacity is 20 fl oz (0.59 L). Hope this helps!

Coleman Powermate 8750 will not generate electricity.

I had a similar situation with a friends generator. After sitting around unused for a few years it would not generate because the residual magnitism was weak. I plugged a light into it and by using the throttle arm I breifly ran up the RPM and the light came on. DO NOT MAINTAIN THE HIGH RPM FOR MORE THAN A FEW SECONDS.

Add auto idle to generator

Your genny should already have this feature as it is part of the function to maintain the output voltage, if it isnt working I would look for a service manual for it and taker it from there as there can be many things that could prevent it from working properly
