The rule I follow when using a signal booster, is read the manual of my gateway and check the Max range of coverage, if it is 50 meters I'll place my signal extender at 25 - 30 meters away from the Router, if you go to the edge of coverage circle, your signal extender will suffer unstable signal, and would fail to boost the signal.

SOURCE: I have about 300 meters distance and I would like

Wireless-g router can only extend it's wireless signal up to 50 to 75 feet. You can use a wireless signal extender to be able to extend the signal further. And yes, you may have password on the wireless network.

Note 2 wifi weak wifi signls. it works only if i go near to router distance between 3 meter

Bad router or it may be the wifi card in your device? I have a router that the wife's laptop cannot connect to very welll from 18 metres away. The guy down the road can logon to my network from 40 meters distance.
Maybe it is not the router.
Try replacing it with a newer model, the lifespan of a router is probably about 2-3 years before they start degrading. Check reviews for recommendations as to which has the best signal strength/range

I have a linksys E1200 can i increase the range ,slow at about 50 '

The strength of the signal is proportional to the SQUARE of the distance, e.g., 1 foot == 100%, 2 feet == 25%, 5 feet == 4%.

Move the router and the computer closer together, with fewer signal-blocking walls between the two devices.

Move the router onto the same floor (basement, main, upper) as the device.

I have a WRT300N router. I was wondering what the maximum distance that laptop with a WPC300N can be too still get a good signal?

Coverage
We tested the router’s coverage at different distances and with different obstacles. We measured the signal level in five points:
Point 1: Near the WRT300N
Point 2: At a distance of 4 meters without obstacles
Point 3: At a distance of 5 meters + two thin gypsum wallboards
Point 4: At a distance of 6 meters + one brick wall, about 30cm thick
Point 5: At a distance of 17 meters + one thin gypsum wallboard and one 30cm brick wall
Here are the results...

What is the ideal distance from the modem and the switch

The connection between modem and switch is Ethernet, so the official maximum distance is 100 meters. It's unlikely that using any shorter distances will make any difference, so the ideal is anything up to 100 meters.

Expanding a wireless network

Where to start..
First - 100 (130) ft is a distance that is not out of reach. Colleges are using professional access points, but I assume you are not willing to pay 600$ for that.

Make a survey: What can cause problems? Sheds often are filled with (or made out of) metal - bad for wireless. Glass is an excellent reflector but very difficult to penetrate. Are you using any other devices that work in the 2.4 GHz range like microwave, cordless phones etc? Try to get them out of the way.
I use a program called "Netstumbler" (download link) and walk around with my laptop to find strong/weak signals and to see if anyone else is using the same chanel (1,5,6,11). If so, try to use one as far away as possible. (See here.) Don''t forget that only channels 1 through 11 are legal in the US!

The output on a store-bought router is usually 42mW. You can increase that value by using a third-party firmware like dd-wrt, hyper-wrt etc., but I don't believe your model is supported. (The old Linksys routers are the ones that can run almost everything like WRT54G/WRT54GS - you can get them used for 20-30$ - I use two of those and they work fine).

The antenna you have is a omnidirectional antenna. This means it is sending the signal in all directions and that is the reason why they tell you to put the router in the middle of the house. You can try something simple like this to direct your signal.

Also - make sure that you have the latest firmware installed on your router (check here).

Last - inspite of the problems with wireless signals in general - why don't you just run an Ethernet cable over to the shed? Maximum distance is 100 meters (300ft) and you would not have to deal with interferences, bad weather, neighbors sending on the same channel...

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

Connecting

For problem number 1, your linksys home router has a maximum signal range of 100 to 150 feet, that is less than 50 m. The reason for the poor connection is the distance between the laptops and the wireless device. Try moving the router closer to the center point from where both laptops are stationed. If you can make the maximum distance between 30 and 40 meters (shorter the distance the better the connection strength) from the router to both laptops this may solve the first problem. If you cannot change the location of the router, then you may want to consider switching to a wired connection for the laptop you are trying to review from, (the maximum distance for cat 5e ethernet cable is 100 m).

For problem number 2, I am unsure what you mean by system does not work, do you mean your laptops will not turn on, or that you cannot pick up a signal from the wireless device?
