I've just fixed this problem by replacingthe main capacitor in the foot pedal. I have a Bernina 830. I needed a soldering iron, and I had to buy the right capacitor, but it fixed this exact problem. Btw, a few months ago this problem initially appeared (on my machine) as an issue where the speed was either zero, or full speed). After a white it wouldn't work at all.

Slide the bobbin spindle from the right to the left. You may have the clutch disengaged. Just push or the spindle. Do you hear a motor when you depress the foot pedal?

Foot control on my Juki 2010 sewing machine is not working, as if there's no power reaching it at all. There is power to my machine as indicated by light coming on when main power switch turned on.

Pam, Could be a bad/broken wire, may be repairable, you should take your pedal in to be tested, if diagnosed to be bad you may have to order a new replacement pedal. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Can a foot control go bad?

Yes, foot controls will and do go bad. A lot of the older machines will need the brushes replaced as the old ones get worn down and no longer make contact. Or you can buy a replacement foot control.

The power is on...the light works and the red indicator lights work, but nothing happens when I press the foot control

Is it in wind bobbin mode? Old machines you pop the wheel on the right side in or out. New fangled machines you slide the bobbin spool back into sew position.Good luck!

Foot pedal will not active machine

make sure it's plugged in tightly to machine. Make sure light is on . OH, does the light come on? If the light comes on., it will indicate that you are getting power to the machine

Machine is behaving as if not getting any power, but light is on. Press foot pedal and absolutely nothing happens

There is probably a bad connection in your foot pedal. Try moving it around with your hands at the contact points while pressing to activate. If it goes when you are shifting its position then it needs to be fixed or replaced.
