I do not have the adaptor for my maytag dehumidifier model #M7DH45B2A to attach the garden hose for continuous drainage. Where can I get one, or could you give me the specifications so I can go to the local hardware store and create one? Thanks

The drain hose connecter, which accepts a garden hose type coupling is an intricate part of the unit. It is not removable. If yours broke OFF, that's a different story. However, that Part # 5214A20027A Drain Hose Connect is no longer available. As are many other parts for Maytag Dehumidifiers, that were manufactured by the now defunct, Fedders.

Unfortunately, I do think you'll be able to run out to the local hardware store and get parts to fabricate one. As the lion's share of the part is internal. http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/search/partinfo.php?partsID=282294&modelsID=116727&typeName=dehumidifier

I'm sorry I don't better news for you. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Is the drainage pipe (for continuous operation) the small clear plastic type, or a big garden hose?

Normally, a 48" section of regular garden hose, with the female connection end intact is all that is needed. The hoses female connect attaches to the mail connection on the rear of the unit. It must slope down and remain straight to drain into a floor drain. Proper drainage relies on gravity.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

How to attach drainage hose to drain automatically

Because your model dehumidifier has an unusual continuous drain hook up, as compared to other brands, I have included a link to the Owner's Manual for your model. You will find the information on page 3. You can downlaod and print the, manual for future reference.

http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/content/pdfs/123922.pdf

One thing the Owner's Manual fails to mention is the length of the garden hose that can be attached to the unit. It should not exceed 5 feet. As drainage relies entirely on gravity to drain.

I hope this has helped you. Please let e know. Thanks.

I have a Maytag dehumidifier M7DH45B2A, and want to connect a drain hose, as opposed to using the bucket as we always have. What kind of hose, and do I just remove the bucket and hook up to the same...

Unless it can be 100% gravity feed (1 inch drop per foot) you might need this:

Part: WPL8212501
Fits Maytag M7DH45B2A 496719-1.jpg (Click images to Enlarge)

Description:

Pump-drain

No. in Pack:

1

Additional info:

Dehumidifier pump assembly conveniently attaches the pump kit to you dehumidifier. connect a run hose to a nearby sink, pump, or floor drain. this pump will push water through a hose to up to 18 vertical feet for drainage through a window.
Stock Status: In Stock

Price:

$107.79 - addtocart.gif
This part is also known as:
8212501

If you can gravity feed it and can get a hose around the output pipe then any flexible hose will work that is slightly larger than the output pipe.

With this model is there a way to attach a hose to it so that I can leave it running continuously while the hose is draining into drainage hole in my basement? m7dh65b2a

Yes, there is a way to do it. As a matter of fact, your model (now discontinued) came with a short section of hose. However, you can still use a short 5' section of garden hose and achieve the same results. To find the hose connection (if you don't have your Owners Manual) remove the bucket and you should see what looks like a hose connection (which it is) behind where the bucket sits in the unit. If it is not there, inspect the back of the humidifier for a small 2"x 2" pop-out compartment door. Inside of that is the hose connection. Remember, dehumidifiers do not have pumps to pump the water out, they rely on gravity for water to flow through and out of the hose.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks

Do i need to disable the collection bucket to attach a drain line to my Matag dehumidifer M7DH45B2a? Or does it keep a full bucket and drain the overflow to the tubing drain?

No just connect the hose and open the hole to the unit to drain and return to usauge. it will fill to the drain opening and drain.

Need manual with exploded diagram

If your model has a condensate (water) reservoir, there should either be a threaded hose fitting located at the bottom of the reservoir that will accept a standard garden hose, once you punch out the plug inside the threaded coupler.

If you do not have a threaded hose coupler on your unit's reservoir, remove the reservoir and look inside the area above it and there should be a small hose fitting that you can attach a standard garden hose to, to allow for constant draining without having to use and empty the condensate reservoir daily, etc.

If you don't have either of these items, you'll need to purchase a new condensate reservoir with a hose drain attachment to allow use of an auxillary drain hose. You'll need to contact Maytag customer service for the correct parts and assistance.

Missing hose adapter

It might be a problem since these units were made by Fedders for Maytag which is now owned by Whirlpool :inhale: but I found part number FD9520-010 "drain hose". If not, a length of dishwasher drain hose with a male garden hose fitting on one end would work fine
