You need to turn off Windows updates. For this go to the Control Panel--->Windows Updates and select Turn off windows updates. If the problem still there, take the backup of your documents and desktop in a mass storage or another drive of your computer and install a new copy of Windows and after finishing installation of Windows first turn off Windows Updates.

  2. Click Start Diagnostics.

    Note If you receive a dialog box that asks whether you want to run this file or to save this file, click Run.

    The WGA Diagnostic Tool analyzes the computer and then lists the reasons why you cannot validate the copy of Windows XP. The WGA Diagnostic Tool may also list some error messages.

    The most common problems are an invalid product key and a blocked volume license key. If the product key that is generated by the WGA Diagnostic Tool differs from the original product key, go to step 3. If this is not issue, see the "More Information" section to resolve the problem.
  3. If the product key that is generated by WGA Diagnostic Tool differs from the original product key, you must change the product key back to the original product key. To change the product key, use the Windows Product Key Update Tool. if that the case, its either yo don't have the original serial key for your windows xp. if ever that is, go and reinstall your xp and try to download a program for the validation of your xp. it will bypass the authentication security and your xp will be authenticated.
