I have a Goldstar Microwave: Goldstar Model # MV1502W/01 Serial # 703TAHQO1537 Manufactured March 2007 The microwave won't power on at all. what troubleshooting can I do?

no just a fuse inside

These machines are obsolete.Unfortunately,no online vendor or forum have any copy of the owner's manual. But be advised in case of any internal problem, it is advisable to replace the unit than to get it repaired.

I checked the wattage for a replacement magnetron and it is rated at 900 watts'

The magnetron (the part that heats the food) may be bad or the circuitry to the magnetron may have burned out. Basically my advice is that if you have no electrical expertise, it isn't worth fixing. The magnetron if bad, costs almost as much as a new microwave. If you open it up (make sure it has been unplugged for a few hours and don't seen any obvious burnt parts (including a fuse and the diodes), then most likely the magnetron is done and a new microwave is the way to go.

This is not lock child feature, you reset lock child uunplugging power.

Test the high voltage capacitor, the rectifier diode.or the magnetron. If all this are fine, test the control board.

If it additionally does not spin and no light, then check also the door switch and fuse.

The diode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must be allowed discharge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, even if power is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting their two contacts.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.

Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.

Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

Make sure the switches are connected EXACTLY as the original ones, maybe one was connected incorrectly. It also can be the controller board.
