Recently switched back to syncing with Outlook. Everything syncs okay except for my Outlook Tasks. The sync fails and the recovery task records are added to my outlook. I have tasks in both my outlook and my Palm.
I have tried the settings in the hotmail manager custom to both overwrite and synch but no go. Also I've selected the correct Outlook folder and only profile in the task settings.
any ideas what's going on?

just install itunes and you can sync calendar and contact to your iphone. You cannot sync the notes and tasks but. I have just bought an iphone and before I was using an HP ipaq like you. Everything is synced except for the notes and tasks. You cannot even see any word or excel files you had on your ipaq. Cheers
just download the Microsoft ActiveSynk and then you will be able to connect your PDA with computer without any problem.
here is link for ActiveSynk 4.5 and it is 7.5 MB in size
This is how I got it working. Don't use wireless sync software, someting is definitely buggy with it.
Here is what I did to resolve sync errors:
1. Perform a hard reset on the Palm
2. Go to the Palmone folder on your hard drive (C:\Program Files|PalmOne. Look for the Backup folder. Rename this folder Backup Old.
3. Connect the Treo to your computer.
4. Right click the Hotsync icon in the taskbar and click Custom.
Change the four Outlook conduits (Calendar, Contacts,Tasks,Memos) to Desktop overwrites Handheld.
5. Run a Hotsync with the Treo. It should sync without errors. If you need to install additional applications you can add them now
I was ready to give up completely. Uninstalled, reinstalled, nothing worked.

This worked for me. I hope it helps with your errors.
Note- this software is works only with windows operating system so, connect your Memory Card, Phone, HDD or any other Storage Device to computer to recover data.
Hard rest resolved problem for me.
I just posted yesterday a similar problem with my T3. While everything else was syncing fine, the Tasks from Outlook would not sync. After I posted my question, I (accidently) did a hard reset on my T3. So I set all Outlook conduit settings to 'Desktop overwrite HH' for first hotsync. This somehow corrected the problem with the Tasks, and all outlook tasks appeared on my HH.
All sync's seem to be working fine now.
Tryy this -- Go to Chapura.com and purchase the pocket mirror software. I have Sprint service and that additional software has resolved my synch issues.
I did search through the forums before posting and the only "solution" I found was to buy Chapura PocketMirror for $30 which I refuse to do. I should be able to sync this palm with Office without having to spend even more money.
Click on the hotsync icon in your system tray and then click "custom". That will bring up the list of things you are configured to sync with (conduits). For each of the ones you have problems with, click that conduit and then make sure it's set to sync the way you want...desktop overrides, handheld overrides, syncronize, etc. Potentially you have some of them selected as "do nothing". What shows up when I click custom from hotsync are the following Outlook Conduits: Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Memos. If you don't have those showing up, you need to update your Outlook conduits on your PC. If you have them, click to select the problem conduit, then click "change" and select what you want to have happen.
Hard-reset your Palm to erase all data (that usually involves pushing the small "reset" button on the back, then pressing the "power on" button until the device boots, and then pressing "up" to confirm the hard-reset)
After that, sync your palm. The sync software will ask if you want to use your existing profile or create a new one. Create a new one. Then the program will offer to sync your Outlook profile with your Palm. Click on "ok", and a message asking you to accept to sync your Outlook data with more than one profile will pop-up. Click on OK, again... and that's it!
